having tested both lines extensively I dont believe the current Zaino offerings (pro line) are the same. Some of the past Zaino offerings do seem similar to current DG offerings but Sal has emphatically said they are not. So unless your a chemist, its probably best to retire this as a myth.

Of course he is going to deny it.. wouldn't you?

When people that have used both products extensively see conclusive results to prove otherwise I don't think retiring it as a myth is justified....

I used the old Zaino Z5 and DG 105 side by side a few weeks ago and they do share similar qualities. The main one was scent- I can't put my finger on the scent but both of these products have it and I've never smelled it before. It was a strong citrus like smell... both applied like sealants, no big deal ... but DG105 dusted when I removed it and the Zaino different. They definitely aren't 100% the same.

What is conclusive, unless a scientist or chemist you cannot tell me in all assurance that similar ingredients used could look similar enough to suggest a product is the same.

I believe there are just as many items that can "support" this claim as "deny" this claim. I too have read the many rumors about Brothers Inc and this and that, only to see just as many unsupportive facts. Thus a myth until proven or dispelled. Just watching Sal continue to invent new products, and consistently enhancing his products to a better level is what intriques me more. (remember I was not a fan of the original Z offerings, and not a fan of DG products in general)

I think the whole issue of private labeling is overblown in general. First, every commends C G for their products and yet anyone can buy them and offer them, infact several do. We also know that several use their base design and enhance it with different degrees of chemicals and ingredients. Does a change is color or scent make it different ?? Some say yes, others say no.

At the end of the day .... use what you want, and buy the product that fits your price point, needs, look, and outcome.

I suppose conclusive was a strong word to use.. may be I should have said the looks of the products once applied supports the theory that they in fact maybe from the same formula

For the record I agree with you on all points you made above:cheers:

Who ever knew Car Care could be so exciting! ;)
I think a lot of products seem similar, but you have to look at it this way, there are only so many scents, and colors you can use to make a product. And as Killer said at the end of the day all that really matters is that you find a product that fits your needs and performs for you the way you want it to.
I always try out new items, but in the end my go to products do not vary much!

Yeah, all you have to do is change the color and/or scent, throw it in a new bottle with a label and you have a "new" / "Different" product...

I also try a bit but lately I have been shiting to what some conclude is the "root" mfg for cost...

If I were just doing my vehicle I doubt that would be important but I buy gallons where possible so cost becomes a factor real quick!
