I bought this car a few years ago. I didn't know a portion of the car was resprayed until I developed my eye. Of course now all I see is thick ugly respray when I look at my car.

I think the color and flake are a great match, there is just a lot of excess paint on the car. The reflections are soft, fuzzy, and muted; not sharp clear reflections like on all other areas of the car (including the same door above or below the body crease where there is no sign of respray)

What can I do to improve this? I have a Griots DA and microfiber pads and Megs 105. I have a sanding block and all sorts of paper from 800-3000. I'm not averse to buying more products. I do not have a paint gauge, or a rotary. Should I try to hand sand? Should I buy a sanding disc and pad for the DA or a carpro denim pad?

This is a close up of the door, you can see drips and runs in the paint. There are a lot more runs than just pictured. The pic may look like indentations, but these are drips.

Here is the area of the car that has been resprayed. The respray is actually on the passenger side, but this is the only photo I have handy so I am just demonstrating the area repainted.
