Hey guys today i went to my local store (canadian tire) and i saw that all autoglym cleaning products were on sale for $9.69 but everyone bought the custom wheel cleaner and none were left but autoglym "clean wheels" was stocked on shelf. I been using autoglym custom wheel cleaner for my wheels for long time. So what is the difference between these two wheel cleaners? See the links below for reference:

Thx

Based on your links, I see nothing about Custom Car Wheel Cleaner being safe for painted wheels. However, clean wheels appears to be safe for painted wheels. This is based solely on the links you provided.

Also according to Autoglym Clean Wheels:
For non original, anodised or specially plated wheel finishes proceed with special care or use Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner

From the Autoglym website:

Q. Which is best to clean my alloy wheels with? I use the bodywork shampoo conditioner but sometimes I like the wheels to be free of brakedust deposits. Which cleaner is less harsh on my alloys? The Custom wheel cleaner or clean wheels? Many thanks
A. For alloy wheels we would recommend using Custom Wheel Cleaner as it was formulated with alloys in mind. Ensure you read the back of the bottle for instructions and note that it isn't suitable for 'split rims'.

Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner is safe for all wheel finishes. Clean Wheels is acidic and only for coated wheels.

Wheel acid can be used on all surfaces (briefly) then rinsed off.

I saw a BMW that had aftermarket polish aluminum rims. The previous detailer use Megs WB.

Sprayed all four and slowly worked around. The first wheel was fine, send one had light marring. Last two had a heavy texture.

Just be careful. Usually if you see smoke, thats the CC dissolving. Pretty much all OEM rims are coated in CC and paint to protect them from this problem.

Dont let acid frighten you. It has is place. Great for cleaning control arms and other components
