Difference between heavy compounds and heavy swirl removers?

...From the chart you can figure out the heavy compounds cut more, but is that the only difference?

That's an interesting question.
You can be sure that the main difference lies with the cutting aggressiveness. I'm not sure however whether there are more aspects that contribute to this differentiation and it would be interesting to hear what the pros here have to say.

The way i see it is the heavy compounds will cut and level just about whatever you want them to but will generally leave a haze (depending on which one you use). The heavy swirl removers i think are the ones that do just that (take out heavy swirls) and finish nicer (again depending on what you use).

Without getting into smat and dat...my guess would be size and quantity of the abrasives that are in the products.

With a compound you will be left with more polish infused marring. But if you are using a compound you will be following it up with a polish that will remove the marring.

cool, thanks for the replies, learning lots of new stuff since joining the forum :)
