Hi All,

What is the differences in the paste waxes of BF, Fuzion, XMT, & Pinnacle Souveran?

Midnight Sun, Fuzion, and XMT 180 are all carnauba based waxes with polymers blended into them. This gives them extra durability compared to pure carnauba paste waxes. Pinnacle Souveran is a pure carnauba paste wax so it doesn't last as long as the others but it does give a great warm look.

Also the percentage of carnauba between them varies some.

I'd say skip these PBMG waxes and try Finish Kare 1000p or Collinite 915, the 2 best waxes out there under $50...

I have my wife's Acadia with one coat of 915; going on about 6 weeks now. The car is due for a wash and even under the fine layer of dirt I can still feel the slickness of 915.

Thanks for all the feedback!! I'm trying to decide which wax to spend my hard-earned money on! Right now the Black Fire and the Collinite seem to have drawn my interest.

Has anyone tried the Chemical Guys waxes?

Also, does a higher priced wax = a better wax?

I know this question will show my "newbie" status, but what does the acronym PBMG mean?

I have Pete's 53 from Chemical Guys an it is by far my favorite wax! I have Liquid Souveran, Dodo Juice Light Fantastic, Purple Haze, Diamond Hard an it is still my favorite that I have used! Now I haven't pulled the trigger on any expensive waxes yet an plan on getting some in the near future. I will say tho that the Light Fantastic was an awesome wax but it is almost twice the price of Pete's 53

I love BFMS, but i use it only as a topper for BFWDPS(which is what it was really meant for) and it does a great job of adding that "carnuba warmth" over top of the depth and gloss of the BFWDPS.

I have tried XXX and Petes 53 both. They both are good waxes and seem to hold up well. The only trouble that I've had with either is that the XXX is harder to remove after you let it dry to a haze. The DP Maxwax is a good wax also and not priced as high as some. It's a WOWO wax and seems to provide great protection, shine, and slickness. One of my favorite waxes is Pinnacle II but it's a little more expensive than Maxwax.

Pete's 53 is a WOWO wax. In Philippine tropical weather I find CG XXX quite easy to remove after drying to a haze.

I just ordered the Pete's 53; can't wait to try it. The BFMS is also on my list!

If I had tropical weather all the time it probably would be easier to remove also, but I might just not really care if it wasn't. I guess people say the same about mountian weather too if you don't live there.

Living in Fla., that's one of the reasons I like the Palm Beach Motoring Group's line of waxes. I know the heat and humidity won't be a problem. I think where you live, the color of your car and how often you detail are pretty critical questions.

If you want a wax that you only need a couple times a year and you don't want to fool with it, I would go Rejex all day long. It's for sale on this site. Goes on glass, wheels AND paint.
