I just got a bottle of DP clay lubricant.... I was thinking since this bottle wont last me very long, maybe I could dillute a little to 1:2

Could this compromise the lubricants lubricating ability too much?

you can dilute it 1:1 without compromising the lubricant...i purchased a gallon of megs last touch just for claying..

i read to many threads where soap/water mix causes clay to crumble..another option is ONR

Some dish soap is very alkaly and will break up clay...best soap for clay lube is Meg's 00 Hi Tech soap..its detergent free...also good for wetsanding lube...

ONR or 4-1 mixed to a QD solution will be fine for a clay lube...and also inexpensive in the long run....I used 901 with water as a lube once did fine...I used NXT and and the clay crumbled...so it depends on the shampoo...Griots shampoo makes a nice lube also....but the problem with soap is it can be a pain to remove if it bakes in under the sun....

the qd i use is 5 gallions for 75 bucks las tme like 2 years

You should buy DP 4 in 1 or Optimum No Rinse. They can be used for clay lubricant. I've used DP 4 in 1, and the dilution ratio for clay lube is 1 oz of DP 4 in 1 to 31 oz of water in a spray bottle. I love this stuff, and I never find myself running out of clay lube. 32 bottles of clay lube from a 32 oz bottle of DP 4 in 1 is a great deal :D

+1 for ONR/DP4in1. Multiple uses for the same product.

Ive used Meg's NXT and CG Citrus without problems. Dish soap is a bad idea though.
