Here's my semi-redneck detailing trailer. I had originally planned on using my big 20' trailer, but too big, then looked at buying an enclosed, but then it occurred to me that I already had this trailer behind my shop, and it would be perfect. Has a little hatch type door in the front for loading and unloading, I can get to everything to start the generator, and my rain-barrel water supply worked great.

I used it yesterday, and I'm really happy with it. The trailer was free, so my total spend was about $200, new tires, the water barrel, and a few cans of spray paint.

I just got my graphics for the Yukon, so I won't be putting any on the trailer, they'll be plenty big enough on the rig.
 
I see a Generac PW. I have the 2700 psi model and love it. :xyxthumbs:

Yep, just got it, and it's great. And, it'll gravity feed very well from that tank with just the drop from the trailer to the intake with the PW on the ground.

Really? I've been too afraid to try. I was going to get a Karcher just to be able to do that. My friend was able to hook me up (an HD employee) and I was able to grab my for $200 new. Was an open box, but never seen a drop of oil/fuel. It's great, I've just been afraid of trying it without a pressurized source. Do you notice a difference when using it gravity fed? Thanks :)

It worked perfectly yesterday. What I do is I hook up the hose from the water tank and leave it loose on the PW side, then I turn on the water tank valve. I'm using a short hose, like 15'. By the time I get over to the pw, water is coming out of the connection to the PW, so I know that the air has been purged. Tighten it up, then fire up the PW as you usually would.

I tested it at home before I tried it on the job, but it did great. Plus, my water tank was really cheap, so I was hoping I didn't need the pump. I also have a sump pump I can use.

The distance from the valve on the water tank to the intake on the PW is probably only 8-10", so it doesn't take much drop...
 
Great use of what you already have. Did you plumb a valve into the bottom of the barrel? I just use my sump pump since I have to run my generator to run my electric Karcher anyway. I will just syphon from my barrel with the pw once water is flowing if I want reduce the amount of water I'm using.
Love the backdrop of the mountains in the pic. Must be awesome to see that everyday.

That's a great little trailer. It would be very easy to enclose should you want to for security or advertising. It looks like the railing is steel. You could even put a full size door where the mini one is now.

Looks great nice to have options.

The mountains are nice, I could do with less snow! ;->

The barrel was one I ordered off of ebay, it came plumbed already but would have been easy, I just don't have a source for them here locally.

rmagnus: yes, it would be pretty easy to secure. I can't leave it out anyway until the weather turns, and not a lot of security issues here. I do need to think about leaving it while out and about, but in our area, not typically a concern. The trailer was built as a camp trailer or something I think, and it actually has door hinges along the sides, so it wouldn't be hard to put a top/doors on it.
