Facebook is a massive source of advertising if you know how to use it correctly. I can spend $5 and target the exact people I want, nothing else currently does this.

I can say give me males between 20-30 in age with an income greater than 40k who like cars within fifty miles of my zip code and pinpoint target who gets my post.

Do not under any circumstances count out the power of target marketing.

I have yet to make the leap to paid advertising on Facebook.... just haven't pressed the button yet! I don't know what is stopping me!

It will change the way you look at advertising forever. Don't jump in both feet and just pay. Do the actual targeting, set a low budget and see if you get results.

In my outdoor business we often combine this with a contest asking for an email to win. We build our mailing list this way. When we draw a winner, we make sure to share it so everyone can see it's not a joke. We don't make contests we can't deliver on, it might be $30 handful of new baits, 200 email addresses sometimes, other times very few. I've put up prizes and not backed it with target advertising and watched a single person enter and win. Remember, everyone wants something free.

These two people are crazy, no wonder they are dating each other.

Ok, let's figure out exactly who these people are... And every single member on Autogeek send them an envelope of glitter. Shenanigans will ensue. Lol

I couldn't agree MORE!!! ;)

I stumbled across it whilst searching the Google help pages, then couldn't tear myself away from it.

It was literally like watching a train wreck in slow motion!

Strangely enough... their antics... are by and large EXACTLY what you'd see behind the scenes were you to go into the living room(s) of your typical forum troll.

OTOH... it could actually be that it *was* an individual that *thought* she wanted detailing services. :dunno: Thinking of course going in that "it's just someone to clean my car, how much can it possibly cost..." (and having seen nothing but corner carwash pricing) only to be totally blown away by a price that they/she then somehow felt was 'highway robbery'. :dunno: Of course not knowing that a TRUE detailer doesn't operate within the parameters of those typical corner car wash OR even the DEALERSHIP detailing guidelines. ;)

As we 'geeks' know however... (and as my Daddy always used to say)... "Good stuff ain't cheap, and cheap stuff ain't good!"

Will have to try Facebook ad next month. Sounds sweet ;) I thought you could do pretty much the same thing with Adwords though.

I think you can for the most part, but I know FB lets you get to a razor thin demographic, I haven't figured out if adwords lets you get quite as targeted: 30-55, male, within 25 miles of a pin, $100K+ income, interest in cars, (must also) recently purchased a new car, (must also) Mercedes/BMW/Audi/Lexus, (must also) follow a particular car page. You may also want to consider where you already do your promoting. If you have a strong facebook presence, probably best to advertise there; if your google reviews are all 5 stars, google might be better.
