Hey guys,
I am completelly puzzled and am trying to find a solution to the following problem:
I just watched a video with Chip Foose where he shows the new Trizac system using 1500, 3000 and 5000 grit sanding disks to flatten paint. The nice thing about this is that after the 5000 grit sanding, the paint doesn't need to be compounded, you can go directly to polishing!
So I tried to find some of those disks but they only come in 6" sizes. Both my DA sander (pneumatic) and my electrical sander are 5". So the disks are too big.
I searched Autogeek store for the Meguiar's equivalent (Unigrit) and it's the same thing: 6 inches disks... ;(
Does anyone know if there is some kind of interface that can be purchased to use 6" sanding disks on 5" backplates?
How about using those on a Polisher DA like the Meguiar's G110 V2? I think the original backplate is 6", I replaced mine with a 3" but still have the original one somewhere...
Finally, I have 5" sanding disks for lower grit sizes (40 to 320) but some are sticky and some are Hook and loop. Any interface exist to put sticky ones on hook and loop system?
