So i did a little a test spot on my trunk half and half, I didnt OC Orange Pad (LC) and then OP on white pad then ex-p..... It looked the same as the other half with old meg cleaner wax on it what did i do wrong.... im still haveing problems seeing the swirls, i hate silver!! Why can i have black lol

Black paint is usually the softest.. swirls are easier to get onto/into black paint, meanwhile, its also much easier to remove them..

Silver's great in that it hides swirls pretty well, but that's also a curse when you're trying to remove them.

When I had a silver car, I'd polish it then later on, under certain lighting, notice swirls that I couldn't see in my garage. I then got a halogen worklight. It took some trial and error on finding the best place to position the light, but eventually I found a spot that revealed the swirls.

Im trying to get a worklight from sears but they are still sold out they keep saying they will be in next week! but nothing lol

The dual light is on sale through Craftsman club right now for $19.99 2 store near me are sold out.

Let's see some pics if you can. How long are you polishing? Are you going fast or slow? Have you seen the videos demonstrating the XMT series? I hate polishing light colored cars for this reason, but they sure hide them well so it is a benefit.

Yea thats what im trying to get i got a rain check for 19.99 on it but its sold out :(

I tryed takeing pick but the camera and my ability suck, id say im polishing a 2x2 section for about 5-6 min moveing slow

i got to see the swirls in low light at a very small angle, all the swirls on my truck will still there i hit it with Orange LC pad and OC what am i doning wrong?

Make sure you are going slow, about 1-2 inches per second. And also don't forget to add pressure. You may also need a couple passes of the OC. For mine, I went slow, added quite a bit of pressure, did two passes and that was with Hyper Compound to get most of the swirls. You may even need to step it up to Hyper Compound if the OC isn't working or takes too long.

I should add just as much presure until the pad stops spinning then back off a little bit right? maybe i will put a mark on the pad so i can get it down.... You guys make it seem so easy on here hehe it isnt but it sure is adicting! Maybe ill make a video in a few days and post it, If its not to cold. I cant get good pictures i suck at it and its hard to get anything on silver..... I have a coat of NXT on her and i didnt notice much differerance with a spot that was hit with OC-OP-EX-P i dont know what im not doing right..... Somone want to trade me a dark blue or black car hehe?

Thanks for the tips Grimm

I use the old Meg's pads, which are totally different colors. I will let someone help you with the correct pads. Although I'm looking to upgrade my pads VERY soon, I cannot help you there.

I first apply lots of pressure to stop the head from spinning, and gently let off a little bit, so it still spins, and pressure to the head is applied. Make sure you apply pressure in the MIDDLE of the head, not to any different side. You won't get the results you're hoping for.

What speed were you using the OC on? Was it in direct sun-light, or garaged? About how long before the polish broke down?

I was running at speed 5 In a garage... but it was cold out not to cold but still a little i hold the pc the same way its done in the showcargurage movie

Were you moving too fast? How long until the polish broke down for you? Maybe you weren't breaking it down long enough. Very slow, steady arm speeds will get you that desired look. At times, I could work for about 10 minutes before it starting to dust.

Id say like 5 min i think i might have not worked it in enough, It was hard for me to see the stages... silver :( ill try it again tomarrow ill look at my clock to make it excat

It depends more on the conditions where you live, but I would say 5min is just to short. You should be able to see the compound break down, and then when it starts to dust, its done.

REMEMBER! work slowly.. working the pad at the right speed, and right speed = superior results.
