Dissapointed with my skills :(

So i should polish until it dusts? I heard that was bad maybe i should do it to theat once to see how long it takes me.. then do it for like 1 min less

It depends.. my CC is SUPER hard, and I just polished until it start to dust. Pulled the PC off, cleaned area, and went back to work. I don't have any problems, see my "97 Aurora" thread...

There is a chance you could induce minor scratches/swirls, but some polishes can remove them. OP will do that if you find OC induces any imperfections.

Are hondas CC hard no experance, the back is original paint i think then the rest is a repaint... but done very well by the best body guy in town

Just break down the polish until it is almost clear. Make sure you don't use too much product or you will be polishing forever. The Optimum won't dust like other polishes. Just keep practicing technique and you will see results.

I put about 3 dime-sized spots on my pad. I hit the pad once with a QD about every 3 panels.

I also work a 3x3 or 4x3 area. I have a bit more experience with these types of products.

Good luck bud..

I usually spritz on a little bit of quick detailer and a circle of product on the pad to load it. After that, just use a nickel sized dot for the rest of the panels.

I just did a black Chevy truck last night with terrible swirls and scratches. I used the Porter Cable for some of the truck to show my brother how to use it. It took about 3 passes on a 2x2 section to remove the swirls. On the rest of the truck I used my Hitachi rotary with the HyperCompound and it only took one pass on each panel. The Porter Cable works but it just takes more time to see the results.

OK thanks nick! and justin, i cant wait for summer to really be able to spend a lot of time on it, im just takeing it slow and haveing fun!

Don't worry about it man, you will get it, just takes time and practice. Anytime you have questions feel free to e-mail me bud.

How do you like the Hitachi? Would you recommend it?

I love it! I had an old Dewalt before this. The Hitachi is so much lighter and quieter. I'm actually thinking about selling the Hitachi and getting a Metabo. It is suppose to be the Mercedes of rotaries and I've heard such good things about it.

Right now I currently use the PC,Cyclo, and Hitachi. I actually use the Cyclo and PC the most though.

Hey Nuke, how cold is it there in NY? Maybe it's too cold to polish effectively?
