Thought I would update you all...

The husband and I went to a greyhound event without Sidney a few weeks after we lost him since we were already signed up. We figured it would probably be therapeutic... well it very much was.

We decided after petting dozens of greyhounds, talking to rescues and coming home to a very quiet house that we wanted to adopt 2 more hounds sooner vs later. NOT to replace Sidney and June, but to open our hearts and home to more greyhounds who need a good life and someone to love them.

This weekend we are heading out to the rescue we got Sidney and June from and looking at adopting again. Hopefully we can be paired with 2 hounds that like and gel with us. Our only requirement again is they test cat-safe. We never care about boy/girl, color, etc.

So I will let you all know how it goes!
How do you know if they are cat friendly? Do you take the cats to meet them or do you bring the dogs home and hope for the best?

The rescue centers/shelters will do real-life test interactions with the dogs (potential owners present, preferably) with felines in the room.

This is awesome news. Like my late trainer Val used to say, when you lose one, you rescue two more. Since my ACDF, my doc said no dog walking until June 2020, so if you're board, I have two that love to go to the park three doors down from my house :)

Our local rescue is having their big event. My wife is working it, she does the paintings for the dog paw prints. I normally go and bring my two. There are usually hundreds of greys... but I can't go this year... Need to lay low... doctors orders.

Please send pics, and just think June and Sidney are looking down smiling and rooing knowing that you are going to rescue two of their buds. They wouldn't have it any other way.

Well we came home with two girls!

Meet Amelia and Carmen!
Both 2 years old! They are very sweet and outgoing.

Great news Monica two new members to the family.
Best of luck with your girls.

Thx Paul!

As a man (wife included) that has rescued many dogs (most of them pups), I wish you both well.

It is not an easy thing to train a dog(s) to do what you want them to do. As you well know, Monica.

But when it all comes together, oh boy! The fun begins........ ;)

congrats, they couldn't of landed in a more loving and caring home! Im the MAN:applause:

So happy for the dogs! And you too! I know Sidney and June are looking down happier than a big in a rug. They know your getting companionship you need and the are blessed to have you as parents. 4 very lucky dogs.

Thx everyone!
It’s been a tiring last few days... we have 2 toddlers suddenly.
But we will get there :)

:laughing::laughing: Yes, you do!

You ain’t kidding!
They are doing well for only being here a few days but we have a ways to go.
And 2 year old greyhounds have a lot of energy!
