Do any of you treat your DD like a garage queen?

I used to treat my DD like a garage queen. Man was that a lot of work! I then just accepted that using my car as a daily driver it is going to have its blemishes. I still wash it once a week or so and keep the interior show car clean.

It is just impossible to keep a daily driver 100% perfect. mine is at I would say 85% and I know it is better than most cars on the road. And I get compliments on how clean it looks often so I know I am doing okay with it.

This is me.

I have to maintain a family fleet of three vehicles, so there is no way I could treat them all like show cars. Life puts too much in the way. Rain, bugs, constant running around, etc just don't allow for a flawless DD. It doesn't help that the wife's DD is an SUV! It takes forever just to do the seasonal protection.

I may soon pick up a much nicer DD than I have now, and I'm debating how much I'll baby it and single it out for special attention.

I love to work on my car when I have down time. I have a full-time job with a garage parking so it stays somewhat protected other than dust. I also have a part-time insurance job where the sun beats on it. finally, I have this insane hobby and dream of starting a real detailing company one day but for now its on my weekends that I do the paint correcting and auto detailing. With all of this, I still find that when my car looks at me and says it needs TLC I give it more than my girl gets. Hopefully, my girl will never see it this way. I better keep the GOO GOO eyes flirting going with my girl so she lets me be alone with my queen. HAHA hope this is still along the lines of this thread. THanks for listening.

i think all of us would like to treat our DD like a garage queen (not all of us have a garage) all the time, but in reality it's gonna encounter a ding or two, a few deep rids, and many stone chips that will be from every day driving situations that is beyond our control...

There's always gravel trucks on the I-95 in FL so I've learned to just live with the chips I have, the car looks a lot better than other cars I see even after seeing 100k and 7 years in the FL sun

Took my DD on our honeymoon and brought along my 2 buckets, grit guards, Aqua sponge, mf wash glove and a bottle of TW rinseless to do a good wash. I also ran it through the touch free to get all the bugs off and all the dirt from driving in the rain down there to Tenn/NC/SC/GA. After doing a rinseless I also applied a coat of AW to the car while I was at it. It just takes commitment to maintain your DD like a garage queen, sans the chips but then again there's nothing you can do about that w/ a DD.

My DD gets washed (ONRW&W) every 2 days. Coat with Optimum Gloss Coat every 4 months. Collinite 845 every 2 months. Permanon rims every 2 weeks. Interior detail every 3 months. Repaint front bumper (myself using spray bombs) every spring. Sounds like a lot of work but it's my hobby so whoo hoo.

I cal B.S !!!!:nomore:

I treat my work truck as a work truck. It goes months without washing when covered (lower half) with dirt. I go fishing often down dirt roads so keeping it clean and scratch free is just out of the question for me. When I do clean it I hesitate to get it muddy but when I "pop it's cherry" it's on like donkey kong.

I have two DD's and one garage queen. My DD's are well maintained, and detailed regularly (every 3 to 6 months). The quality of the detailing is equal to the GQ, but with living in NH, there is low expectation they will remain in that condition until the next detailing. My worry level is zero compared to the GQ. I feel free to park in parking lots, and go places and leave the keys with attendants, etc.. I also don't get hung up on dings, rock chips or other things. It's just part of life living in New England.

For the GQ, I usually bring a contingent of Navy Seals to guard it when I can't visually see it. :-)

One DD is 8 years old 140K miles and is my test subject for new products, techniques, and anything else I feel like trying. The other DD is not my car, rather it belongs to my two retired racing greyhounds. They picked it out, and we bought it for them. :-)

I treat my DD/only car I own pretty good....it gets washed once a week, either RW or 2bm, and then maybe a WW in between if it gets a little too dirty for my liking....the paint isn't in perfect condition by any means with me having a 86 mile work commute daily and with all the rocks and pebbles flying around the roads here....but luckily my car is white so it hides quite a bit which helps me deal with the blemishes/imperfections....but I'd say it's one of the "nicer" more well maintained cars around for a DD with its high miles

I detail my car and wife's car weekly, everything except polishing it. Also do my boys cars because they help me with mine and my wife's car.

My daily is a Toyota Sienna that I use for mobile when I do mobile an dot haul the kid and dogs. Its polished and coated and the interior leather is coated and full of Weather tech mats. I use it as a tool for advertising to the soccer moms.

I try to keep my car clean at all times. I don't have a regular schedule for maintnance, if it's dirty, and not going to rain for a couple of days, it gets washed. If I have the time and/or energy, it gets waxed also.

Yes, I have the cleanest, most immaculate,Ruby Red Ford Focus Titanium, with the Titanium handling package, and a proper manual shift, on the planet.

I try to keep the cars here at home clean at all times. Sometimes I'll do a quik rinseless wash every 3 days or so and clean the wheels & dress the tires every week. [tires on my car get Hyper Dressing every 3 days or so] Interiors get a vacuum & wipedown once a week as well.

My brothers Kia was at the house this morning. Both vehicles are the same year, same exact car. Can you tell which 1 gets taken care of by me?😉

I have two DD - 2013 XC90 SUV (black) and 2015 S60 (silver). I try and do a maintenance wash weekly on both but lately it has been waterless with an interior once every couple weeks.

We have two young kids with many activities and live in an urban environment so chips, contamination, kids with portable milk containers and snack bags are a daily challenge.

Wheels get a wash once every couple weeks as well.

Four members of my family and four DDs. It's hard to keep them all in top condition. But since they are all driven daily I have to live with the common affects of what they endure. They all get washed at least once a week. Most get a QD wipe every week as well. Collinite every 6 months and a spray wax like OCW or AW once a month. They will never be perfect, just cared for....
