Do I Need A Foam Canon?

I don't use anything anymore that suds or foams. If the car is super dirty, a PW followed by rinseless. Otherwise a waterless presoak followed by a rinseless.

:dblthumb2: Foam canon actually doubles my wash time. I use a very similar method you describe.

1) Dusty car/ biweekly wash : Presoak followed by rinseless wash, 25 minutes total

2) Dirty car / monthly wash: Pressure wash prerinse followed by rinseless wash, 25 minutes total.

I purchased a foam cannon several years ago. Professional Detailers up north were posting pictures of thick dense foam touting its dirt lifting benefits, so I figured I could benefit from one. Well I used it for a little while but determined it was more hassle for me than helpful.

For some people it might be helpful. But to me it was a PIA and added a lot of time to my washing process. I haven't used it in ages and after moving it got disposed of. Most times now I do a rinseless wash.

Ok will rather buy another polish or lsp instead :-)

If my black truck is just dusty and it hasnt been rained on, can I just foam canon it and then dry using a drying aide? Or will this swirl and mar the finish?

Thank you!
