Do I need AA ?

I hear they suggest clean cars are faster too ... more aerodynamic I suppose ! (smiles)

I have always found that having a buddy system is always a good thing when it come to dealing with OCD or in this case ADD (Auto Detailing Disorder). Especially going into the winter months when for some detailing comes to a halt. That is when some of us can get into trouble. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SUFFER ALONE
Tad I know that in Idaho the winter is oppressive and has already begun so my son if you feel the need to talk just pm me and we can talk it through. I can feel your pain I know how bad you want to use that new spotless water treatment system be strong my son.

Thanks Uncle Stu. I appreciate the fact that my favorite uncle is so supportive. If I start feeling myself coming apart, and feel like I am going to lose control and start polishing the walls or playing with the CR spotless in the house, I will definitely talk to you about it so you can help me through it. (I did offer to polish the glass door on the oven today for my wife, ohhhhh)...She said NO!
:work:

:buffing:Some of us aren't ready to admit we have a problem yet,I can stop anytime I wanna,I jus don't wanna yet.The thought of a car that's not shiny give me jitters.:detailer:

You never have to feel this way about swirls again, Just keep coming back!!:buffing:

I took advantage of the 40F weather today and did both cars outside with the hose.

Ive been thinking about this lately, how would an AA meeting go for detailers ??? Wouldnt you start talking polish or wax and at break everyones ordering thru their Iphone or Netbook ?? Is cold turkey mean you only get one bottle of sealant this year, or forced to shop retail only ???

X2 on the warm weather opportunity.

Did both the wife's TBSS and my G8 GT. ONR wash followed by UQW in the garage.

Heater got it up to 52 in there. WOO HOO !!! No coat! Im the MAN

Heck, I even worked up a sweat.

BTW, I don't have a problem, but my wife saw me looking in 'My Shopping Cart' and said
"you've got issues." She did, however, thank me for her clean TBSS.

No I think it would be more of a ADA meeting for auto detailers anonymous, but does everybody wanna admit they have a problem?Better yet do you wanna be cured?Who knows what that might require, automatic car washes, express wax and dirty drying towels wiped all over your car and not being able to say a word:nomore:

Hey Tad,
It has been a while since I was on the forum. I to was starting to feel the effects of AGholism but do to events beyond my control I was unable to be on the forum for over on month. I must say that it was really cold turkey but I was able to make my way through it and now the family dogs are just starting to come out of hiding. One thing that I discovered when I returned to the forum was that it was as if I didn't even leave in the first place. It was business as usual. People are still debating which is the best polisher to buy or whether it is ok to glaze or not to glaze. The questions still seem to be the same although some of the names have changed (god bless the nubes).
I know that you started to show the signs when you wanted to use your polisher on the marble in your bathroom. I knew that being in Idaho cabin fever was setting in and that "all work an no play was making Tad a dull boy". Keep a can of your Sauveran on you night stand and use it just like smelling salts when you start feeling as if you are loosing control. Dam you Autogeek why don't you have a 24 hour hot line for people like this.

Tad send me a PM it's has been a long time and I would love to catch up with you.

Im right there with you...I made a wopping 800 bucks in January detailing cars. On top of my firefighter salary and hospital PT job. It was supposed to go to a new couch or some AV equipment. I spent 300 bucks on pads and 4 bottles of menzerna along with some Megs APC+ and I bought a brand new Makita rotary...The rest went to pay off my Mother in law from when I borrowed money for my last order....sheesh.

Great thread - I thought I would add a cartoon to express my solidarity with you Tad. You are not alone

GREAT cartoon Corey! (Really cracked me up), thanks for the support my friend!!!

Well it's obvious that it has been a VERY long winter for all of us. In reading through several of the threads lately, I see many of us are suffering from multiple stages of "obsesive detailing disorder" withdrawls. I thought maybe this would be a good time to revive this old thread and offer it up as a means of support for one another. I too am jones'n for spring, the winter grime upon my dd is starting to make me somewhat weak in the knees, feeling sick in my stomach, and just down right shaky. I dream of the day I can wake the PONY from it's long winters nap in the garage and begin to remove the layers upon layers of dust, and restore her to her full glory. Be strong springs a comming!!:work:

Suppose to get close to 40 here today. I am getting everything ready to do an ONR wash and wheel clean on the dd today :awesome:

^^ You read my mind!!
Sometimes I watch all my products and I'll just change the way they are placed ( I don't know if it's the good way to say it ?!? ) on the shelves. It's sooo hard!!

Not trying to be overly keen or sarcastic here, but how do these groups help ???

The conversation inevitably ends up on a product, machine, or technique and off everyone goes to order up . Like perhaps the word BOGO comes up, or new, or nuba ...

My name is Old Tiger and I am a BOGOholic. My particular fetishes are QD's and MF's. I can never buy a bottle of QD because the gallons are so damn much cheaper per oz! Thank God DoDo doesnt sell Red Mist by the gallon! I have no idea how many MF's I have but am sure its over 100. And where will I be every other Friday? Waiting for Meghan to upload! It would be sad if it wasnt so damn fun.
