Do I really need a Flex?

Flex and a HF with a 3" BP. Someone else suggested it earlier.

Another option for 3" pads

I have the Flex and 7424xp - there is no comparison. I don't even like using the PC for spreading wax anymore. The only time the 7424xp gets used is when a friend comes over and he want to help polish his car - I set him up with the PC and he can do no harm. Glad I have both but...if I had to do over, I would go directly to the Flex. YMMV

This ^^^ :iagree: I have the PC and really like it however near the end of a job the vibration and noise gets really old and bothersome. I dont regret purchasing and I won't get rid of it for one, the reason stated above and also using smaller pads. I will be getting the 3401 next as I seem to find myself in situations where pad rotation becomes an issue quite frequently.

I have one. It performs as advertised, that's for sure. I can slap on a coat of Collinite paste wax 1,2, 3. I use it on one car, three times per year.

For me, its overkill. I don't need to do paint correction. A Harbor Freight thingy would probably work fine. In my defense, they didn't have those when I bought mine, so it was do without, or pay nearly as much for a Porter-Cable. Also, good sealants are so long lasting and easy to apply, that the need is not so great.

If you are going to do even a few cars on the side for money, I would definitely say its worth it. If you have two good cars to take care of, I would say its probably worth it. If you have only one good car to take care of, I would say its worth it if you want to go the extra mile. This is the definitive machine. If you can't get it done with a Flex, you can't get it done. Bear in mind that at trade-in time you will more than make up the cost of the machine. If you are the type to run your cars into the ground, the Flex maintained car will be worth that last repair that keeps it on the road for another year. That will save you a lot of money, too.

Not to be morbid, but take into account your age. If you are not a professional and over 45 years old, this machine will outlive you.

I decided to use my GG6 for a paint correction today. I had only used it a few times prior for spot work. I really like the GG6. I didn't feel the vibration was that bad. It performed well too. I will most likely used my Flex most the time but the GG6 can perform the job.

*update*I had a friend stop over to have his WRX shined up and the noise of the PC was overwhelming, I had to stop every time he said something so I could hear him, or talk without yelling. anyways the wrx turned out nice :)
