Hey guys!
My name is Amit and I am from ISRAEL.
I have a 2003 NB MAZDA MX5 (an automatic gear unfrtunatly) and I just love keeping her nice and shiny, I clean here every other week and wax once a month!
However I am not satisfied with the waxing job my hands can achieve...
Do you think a I qualify for a PC?, will it do me good?

p.s.
Here are a few pics of my beauty after her monthly wax:

You can looks good but would look even better with a good polish. If your new to polishing I would recommend a PC or UDM.

And can I use the PC for just wax?
or just for polish?

You can use the PC to both polish and wax with the right pads. I perfer to apply a wax or sealant my hand. I use a rotary and a PC to polish but a PC alone does a fine job and is very easy to use.

Gary sword, sorry for the newbie question, but what is a rotary?

And do you think you get the same quality results by waxing by hand and by the PC?

A rotary is type of polisher where the motor directy spins the spindle that connects to the backing plate that holds the pads. It spins the pads at a much higher speed then a PC or UDM. You can polish a car faster with a rotary but you also can burn you paint with it. If you are new to polishing I would get a PC or UDM first. I still like to use a PC in a lot of areas on a car even though it takes more passes to remove light scratches. I would rather take a little more time then damage the paint on a car. I like to use my metabo rotary on the nice flat surfaces on a car.

I see, thanks for the quick answer!

And also, how many times a year do you give your car a complete a-z polish?

There is no differance in waxing by hand and waxing with a PC other then it may be a little faster with a PC. Although you can apply wax with a pc the PC works best at polishing. In my opinion, if you wash your car using the 2 bucket system, use a good car wash with essential oils, use a microfibre mitt and dry with waffle weave microfibre -you have decreased the chances of causing swirls that will need correction. As far as how many times a year a car will need polished depends on alot of factors ,such as-what environment you live in(what kind of weather) how often do you drive your car,how often do you wash your car, among other things. Its different for everyone.

a pc, udm, or cyclo is a valuable tool for paint correction. Even when used with a paint cleaner you will notice the difference.
