Do you use a QD/spray wax

The price for each is within pennies. Though I purchase Optimum by the gallon.
A gallon of OID makes 4 gallons and costs $49. A gallon of FK425 is $29. Four gallons would cost $126. OID Is the most bang ffor the buck QD i know of! That being said I agree with Corey and Resurfer in that IME OID streaks easier than FK 425,

The best part about this discussion is that whichever one you chose, you win. They are all great products.

After giving 425 a third go round this week I found I am liking it better then before... I did experience streaking with OID that I used 425 to clean up and finish the car with... but in all honesty I am blaming the natty's blue on it until i figure out why 3 vehicles now have had issues with natty's blue... maybe my can is just not dealing with the heat well... might need to melt it down and re-pour it

It only streaks for me if my MF towel gets to wet. or if the surface is hot.
Try cutting it with a little water when used on a hot surface it will eliminate the streaking especially on dark colors. That is what the manufacturer of the products we use tell us.But we have never had an issue with the spray wax-detailer on dark colors from that manufacturer, but had many issues with a lot of the big name brands....

I tried DP final gloss while drying this weekend. Had a lot of streaking. I may have been using to much product. Windows were awful! Took me forever to get the streaks out. Ill try again next wash, but may be looking for another product to use while drying.

I use PB's Spray & Gloss, Aquawax and Mothers Reflections Advance Spray Wax. S&G is the only real QD and it works like a charm but I like to use the spray waxes to enhance shine and add some extra protection.

After washing I use a leaf blower to remove 95% of any water remaining on the finish surface. Adding a detail spray or spray wax at this point would be a waste of product. Then I break out the Optimum Spray Wax and go over the entire vehicle. If there's a little dust on it I'll use Adams detail spray in between.......

Duragloss Aqua Wax is designed to be used while drying the car, so I don't believe the last three years of car washes using Aqua Wax while drying on two vehicles have been a "waste of product" for me. Of course, I try to use products the way they are designed to work.

Do you think the brothers at Brothers Research got it wrong?

Yes.

Used Show-Off when drying between '00 and '09. It was compatible with the wax I was using. It boosted the wax shine and provided some extra lubrication. I probably used M34 too.

Tried CG's Pink Quick Detailer last year; slick and glossy on a clean cool surface but oh my... Never ventured back and have most of the bottle left.

Picked up OID in January or February and regularly use it. So far, so good. Slicker the next day.

Very happy with OCW over DGPS and as a stand alone product. Don't use OID to dry if I am going to use OCW.

Another option is a QD or clay lube dilution of ONR which should give great lubrication when drying. I now hose and bucket or ONR for anything more than a finger smudge or dust, as I learned my lesson the hard way...

I use Meg's Ultimate Quik Detailer and Meg's Ultimate Quik Wax, but that'll probably change since I have a 32 oz bottle of ONR and a bottle of Aquawax on its way.

i flood the paint with water then while wet i mist the entire truck with a nice q/d a drying aid one. this makes drying sooo much easyer. i use a ton of q/d. its the most used stuff in my colllection...

What QD do you use if you use a ton of it? Does it matter or as long as you have a QD?

Now we have Opti Clean too!

Cant go wrong with either of these!
Hey there el striped one... Got your PM request. Sure...

How do you choose between Aqua Wax and FK425, or other QD/spray wax?

Is it by vehicle, color, temperature, weather, etc?

What are the differences that you find between them when you use them?

Now we have Opti Clean too!
I guess there is still room out there for one more multipurpose QD...

If it is based on ONR polymers, I wonder how it differs from diluted ONR?

Is it my imagination or there was a thread on this forum with an actual comparison between several QDs ?
