I am a little interested in a new truck. I love the new Tundra, but I didnt want to limit myself to just one brand this time.

I have been eyeying a 2006 Dodge Power-Wagon. There is one at the local dealer with 40,000 Miles that seems to be in great shape. They want $26,500 for the thing. I like the fact that it comes with alcoa wheels and BFG's standard, and it has a real "heavy-duty" look to it. It's burgandy-red, so i'm not really crazy about that color, but it's a sharp truck.

What do yall think? I know Dodge has had some quality issues in the past. The real things keeping me from this thing is the gas milage (12-16) and the color. If this thing were black I would be all over it!

You're right IMO. It's a sharp looking truck.
Curious, did you ever get rid of your new 4-wheel dune buggy?

Nah, I still got it. It's for sale, but atvs arent selling that well now for some reason.

Yeah, I like the truck, but if it were black, I would be on it like white on rice.

The power wagon is a nice ride, but black would be pretty sweet to have :)

I like the 2500 mega cab...

Nice looking truck but the gas milage would be a deal killer for me unless I really needed that kind of power.

Toyota Tundra is SWEET to! I hate toyota, but that car is NICE! Maybe because its made in Texas? :D

Nice huh?

But I like the dodge just as mutch, looks so big and angry :D is it a diesel engine?

Thats the only thing I think is keeping this truck form being a huge seller. Gas milage is terrible on it and a diesel would be well suited. Only hemi is available as of now. Maybe when they have the light duty diesel they will offer it in the powerwagon.

They say that the diesel wont be offered in the PW b/c it will mess up the balance on the truck, and it wont allow the sway bar to electronically disconnect.

I like it, I'm going to go look closer at it, but damn if it were black :)

Personally I'd get a 2500 Cummins but thats just me :D

Bad pic but here's my buds 3500 with the new 6.7 Cummins, hell of an engine.

Yeah, I want the cummins, but I have a spending limit of around $30K. If I could find a automatic cummins for under $30, I would be all over it.

I would get like an 03' Cummins but with 6 speed manual, the old 4 speed auto and 5.9 Cummins combo sucks donkey balls especially when towing something heavy. My bud got rid of his almost immediately and ordered an same model but with manual trans, of which was traded in on the new truck. The new 6.7 Cummins and 6 speed auto is a sick combo, matched perfectly to the engine.

I bet that thing will fly too!
The new 6.7 and 6 speed auto is really smooth, you'll look down at the speedo and be suprised at how quick your going. Truck drives great imo, very comfy especially on long highway drives, his is the mega-cab so plenty of room. Don't expect the Tundras ride quality which is mushy to me, but his Ram drives nice in a firm kinda of way, just solid.

His 03' had full exhaust, intake, Banks 6 gun and some other stuff.....made for a stump puller with the 6 speed manual. One of our old neighbors had an Excursion that ran high 12's that he used to tow with all the time, being in a truck that massive moving that fast is something else lol. Only thing is the older diesels are easier to mod and got better mileage, all this new electronic crap is choking the new diesels, they aren't getting the mpg the old ones were.

I love my Cummins Dodge. I wanted a 6-speed, but I got such a good deal on this one that it would be stupid for me to pass on it. The sticker was $42.5, I walked out the door for $34K.

So if your limit is $30K, you can easily find a used one and have the Cummins engine, too.

Yeah, I have looked at F-250's as well, actually one just like that one cept black.

There just aint many diesel 3/4 tons around in my price range that have less than 100,000 miles. Plus, even though I want a diesel, I get free Gasoline on the farm, so I am gonna milk that for as long as I can.

if ur limit is $30k, new tundra is not the go to truck for u.... I want a new tundra in nautical metallic blue, texas edition!!! I've heard some things about dodge as well, even from the dodge dealer! Go with what you know!

dont spend the money on the power wagon if your not going to use the features. If you dont need the winch, quick disco's, 4.56 gears, switchable lockers, etc. I would just get a standard CTD with either the new 6.7 or whatever engine you like and put some 33" tires of your choice and live with it.

I'd say go test drive the new 6.7 Cummins, but then you'll really want one so not sure thats a good idea :D . I just love that new engine and tranny combo, I'm more of a Ford guy and I would still take a new Cummins Ram, the new variable vane Powerstroke drives to laggy and lethargic in comparison, Ford must have set it on de-tard mode from the factory lol.

Forget the new 6.7 Cummins, I have the 'ole reliable 5.9 and you cannot beat it!!!
