Back in April I got a phone call from a guy looking for a detailer. He had heard good things about me, but was still hesitant after he had a very sour experience with his previous detailer. I knew this guy would hold me and my employee to a high standard and I was excited for the opportunity to set his new expectation of detailing! I traveled 1.5 hours to his house to handle 2 of his 'daily drivers'.

Fast forward, this past week I got to prepare his baby, this big black RAM for this weekends 'East Coast Indoor Nationals'. Just so happens it's about 10 minutes from my house (1.5 hours from him), so I got the joy of having this in my home shop for the week.

Anyway... on to the pictures/process.

Prep:
ONR Wash with Big Red Sponge
Tarminator/Optimum Power Clean on trouble areas
Speedy Prep Towel
Optimum Black Clay for heavy contamination areas

Correction/Polishing:
Utilized various buffers and pad sizes of all types: PC 7424, BOSS 21mm, Zentool 21mm and Makita Rotary
BOSS microfiber cutting pad w/ Fast correction cream
BOSS Yellow pad with Hyper Polish
Smaller areas were corrected/polished with similar pads in various sizes.

Coatings:
Interior was coated with CQuartz Fabric/Leather
Wheels were coated with CQuartz DLUX
Painted surfaces, side/rear windows, plastics were coated with Optimum Gloss Coat
Tires dressed with OptiBond 2:1 via HVLP Sprayer

Of course a customer goes and one-ups this one... I now have a black crew cab, long bed dually GMC Sierra Denali in for a full correction.

I'd imagine you needed more than a step-stool to finish the roof on that beast !!

Just curious, how did go about detailing the exhaust stacks coming up out of the front of the bed ? They look large enough and accessible enough to use a polisher on.

They are powdercoated and required just general cleaning. No polishing necessary.

Awesome job. The sourness he felt from his last detailer was probably one of those that claim $100 for full detail done in 4 hours. This is one business that real stands by the old saying " you get what you pay for"
