After reading and posting so many threads I guess it's time to add to the wax collection. SON1C I know your likely the resident expert on Dodo Juice waxes (being that you got a fridge full) so let me ask you and everyone else on this.

I was thinking of buying the 6 pack wax kit (you pick 'em). How big of a difference is their between the waxes? How far does those little jars go? Is it worth it to just go all out (ouch) and get the regular jars?

I knew I would weaken as it gets closer to payday.

Feed back please

What color cars are you working with ?
I bought the straight eight just to play around and see the difference (if any) on my car. Each panel pot 30ml serves about 4-5 regular sized cars
(if done properly)

I would agree to just buy the set of 8 panel pots and to see which ones you prefer. There is nothing worse than spening a big chunk of cash on a paste wax you don't like (ask me how I know..)

On another note, what waxes do you currently own? There are plenty of paste waxes that are very high quality that won't run you as much cash as the DJ waxes.

How much extra is the straight eight kit compared to the make your own kit ?

I don't mean to sound like a tidwad (I really am) but even to buy the 8 panel pots is kinda expensive (89.99 whew).

Anyways the waxes I have is:

Collinite 915
Collinite Insulator Wax
CG Butter Wax
XMT AIO
Pinnicle Liquid Sovereign
Griot's Spray On Way
Megs Paste

Yeah, yeah I know this is nothing compared to some.

If you wanted to save a little $

You could try

1. Hardcandy and Rainforest rub hard wax and soft

2. Purple Haze and Blue Velvet "

3. White Diamond and Light Fantastic "

4. Orange Crush and Banana Armor "

why not just pick 4 total to start

and read above the DoDo color chart to choose what works best for the color cars you may work on most including your own vehicles

You have a pretty decent compilation...IMHO.

Why buy more?<<<[That's my: "tight-wad factor" :D]

I understand completely. DJ waxes are a tad pricey, but they do spread nicely and remove easily (overall). Are they a huge bang for your buck product? Probably not. Judging by your current stock of waxes, I think your money would be best served in grabbing the following products:

Fuzion Mini - See if you like it, 3 oz will be plenty to know
Souveran Mini - Same reason as above
Optimum Car Wax - Yes its a spray wax, but durability and gloss are off the charts!
P21s Concours - One of the best bang for your buck carnauba waxes imho
Finish Kare Pink - Same as above
Natty's Paste - Same as above
BFWD - A sealant, I know, but this is a must own in my book

All of these waxes offer fantastic value. Honestly, if you think paying $90 for the eight panel pots is a little ridiculous, you probably don't want to pay $70+ for a full pot without at least trying the product first, right?

Foreal though, but I cant blame him and I also cant really escape the allure for dodo wax. I was about to get a sample pot supernatural for the 30 on another site while ordering a couple books for school last night. lol never tried anything from their line but It looks funky and fun.. Anyways i just didnt get the pot for this reason, already having fun with the variety that i have. I want a dodo juice wax bad! Does ag do trading?

IF I WERE to ever buy anymore Dodo Juice wax in the future.
I would pick up the Blue velvet and pruple haze (PRO) verison.....

PS: Not that i dont like DJ products, i am just a coating person now.

And btw why do people like to buy the panel pots?!?!? I understand how u can try out different waxes... but it is so small, and more expensive when u compare to a full size jar....

Fuzion also have my vote....
One of the BEST waxes IMO lol :dblthumb2:

Does ag do trading?
Here's a thread showing a: "trading-example"...
That perhaps you can use to model a trading-thread for yourself...
(Hope KneeDragr doesn't mind)

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...-trade-midnight-sun-different-paste-wax.html]

I have a tub of Blackfire Midnight Sun, excellent condition, at least 80% full, for trade for another paste wax.

Id be interested in CG 50/50, Migliore Frutta or Original, Souveran, DP Max Wax, P21s 100%.

And a thread with AGO members': http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/off-topic/28603-trading-feedback.html

Hope this helps!!

The waxes are relatively different, a lot of people like rainforest rub, I don't care for it, doesn't bring much to the table in looks

Here's a big point imo, dodo juice waxes to me don't seem to bring a huge look factor to the table - they do bring some looks but not a drastic increase like say Pete's 53
What they do offer is incredible user friendly super easy on easy off look cool great smells
They give a more subtle look change which many like
These panel pots will give you at least five coats imo
A big thing is, after working with the soft and hard waxes, I thought the soft waxes were so cool at first.. They are.. But then I realized I don't like it! I would take a hard wax over a soft wax every time but that's my preference
Orange crush is an awesome wax, banana armour is a great wax as well, great for warm colors and can lighten up some darker colors which can be good ime
Blue velvet and purple haze are the favorites of the core 8
The supernatural line is ridiculously over priced imo
The core 8 is within reason for high quality wax
4 panels pots I'd go orange crush banana armour blue velvet and hard candy
So if I were you, you know what I would do?
I would buy the home brew kit, it's honestly really cool
You get a decent box
Glass jar
Raw Nuba
Another bottle
Get to name the wax
Priced the same as the other already made waxes
250 ml of wax
Get to see what a dodo wax is all about
So I'd say go off the wall and get something fun and unique, especially since its cold out, more time available for things indoor such as brewing a wax

What about DJ Diamond White (I have a white car and I hear it's good on white)?

I haven't had a chance to use either light or white on a white vehicle yet so I can't say, I waxed my snowboard with it and from that I wasn't impressed but not a fair comparison at all lol
There isn't much talk about those waxes as well ( not saying they're bad) but I don't really see them raved about, but only one true way to find out and all that matters is how a wax performs for you on your vehicle :xyxthumbs: with a panel pot you can't really go wrong
SONIC has spoken ! Lol

I have a White car I used Hard Candy first and then a few hours later came back and topped it with Light Fantastic!

IMO I think the Hard Candy is a better Choice than the Diamond White for a hard wax (Designed for any color) and the Light Fusion ( soft wax ) to really help bring the pearl color out and pop. and was designed for White and Silver

Light Fantastic Really looks great on silver as well.

Like SON1C mentioned.. the homebrew kit is something really cool to consider / a great wax/ and GOOD to go on all colors!!

Good luck:props:
