Does Anyone Still Use Detail Sprays?

I’ll use Wolfgang spritz to maintain during the weekdays if it doesn’t rain, I usually won’t on Thursday and Friday since I typically wash the car on Saturdays.

I used to use crystal mist but I recently changed over to DGPS a few weeks ago.

How do you like WG Detail Spritz so far vs Crystal Mist?

I'm liking this thread. When I used WG DGPS I always used the WG Spritz as at QD and more so as a drying aid. Now having switched to WG Ceramic Coating I've taken up the suggestion of using the WG Si02 Waterless Wash as my QD. The Spritz on the ceramic was defeating the benefits of the ceramic coating. I'll have to pass along my unused Spritz to my kids for their cars.

How you liking the WG SiO2 WW? Is it keeping the benefits?

At this point I really like it and it seems to be on par with crystal mist but it’s hard to tell which one is better since I used crystal mist with liquid Souveran and did not use it with DGPS. As far as application, it even...easy on easy off!

I did use it once on my wife’s X3 that had PNS as the sealant and BSD on top. It did leave a better/ different shine on the white paint compared to BSD and it was a lot slicker too.

I’ve since repolished her car and used DGPS... it definitely kicked up the shine compared to PNS and “so far” the self cleaning is on par with PNS but the jury is still out on that one, maybe another couple of rainy days and we’ll see.

Nope...a shelf full of 1/8th used Detail Spray bottles that I suspect I won't make a dent in any time soon.

Why pay today for something that's 90%+ water when you can buy the concentrate and do so much more with it?

I have Showroom Shine as well. Adds a nice touch, but get a lot of heavy streaking. Probably because my car is dark and parked outside in the sun all day. Not worth the headache to have to go over and buff all the streaking IMHO.

How you liking the WG SiO2 WW? Is it keeping the benefits?

It appears to keep all the benefits of a ceramic coating, and goes well as a touch up with my weekly wash (including every other week with the WG Si02 wash). Two WG Si02 products (WW and regular wash) designed to work in conjunction with ceramic coating.

Nice! That’s the way to do it!

Agree with what others have posted here, I use RW/WW sprays now, but still have several leftovers. One I still use after a wash is Kenotech Showroom Shine.

That is my favorite quick detail spray BY FAR! It attracts lest dust than any QD I have ever used. The Kenotek even removes tree sap mist while providing a nice slick and glossy surface. It is almost like using an LSP it is so good. Has this product been discontinued? It is getting more and more difficult to find.

I'm not sure if still available. You are correct, I just checked the Autogeek store and they don't have it.

Of the traditional QDs to be used on a non-coated car Kenoteck is my favorite as well. I noticed it isn't sold at the PBMG stores, too. I hope it isn't discontinued!

Besides the Kenotek being raved about, Pinnacle Crystal Mist is the other that people rave about as well... which is also probably my favorite QD.

I've started sort of using what could be called detail spray but really is just a spray coating more like.

Yep. Megs 34, Griots Best of Show, Optimum Instant Detailer and Gloss Enhancer. Love all three.

Me too. I like the gloss boost I get from them. I have a couple of gallons, so might as well use them up. WG's detail spritz is my favorite. Fk425 is a close second. I also like GG BOS QD.

Something I noticed last night while digging through my stuff: Four Star Ultimate Spray Wax explicitly states that it can be used as a QD or a waterless wash.Four Star Ultimate series used to be widely talked about during the peak Sealant days but it’s rarely mentioned here nowadays. I’ve re-taken notice in them after getting great results from Ultimate Paint Protection in a sealant comparison test.

Anyways, for a spray wax from years ago to announce itself as Spray wax/QD/WW is pretty nuts. WG Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant boasts itself as a spray Sealant with QD cleaning ability and it works well cleaning smudges and light dust. Blackfire Synthetic can do the same I believe. Sonax BSD is a QD that most of us know behaves like a really good Spray Sealant. But this Four Star product is the first I’ve seen as a WW, meaning they must think highly of the lubrication and cleaning ability in it.

Since I’ve only used it as a spray wax, I can’t vouch for the cleaning abilities, but it is slick and it does leave a nice Sealant shine. It probably lasts a couple weeks in mild weather, like most traditional spray sealants. I’ll try it out on a mildly dirty panel and see for myself how it does with light cleaning.

Either way, I thought this was interesting and wanted to share.

I remember receiving this as a promotional gift on a sale here years ago. I was really impressed with its ease of use and slickness it left behind.

I mix my own details sprays either with Wolfgang Uber or Ech2O. The pre-made dedicated detail sprays like Meguiars Quick Detailer are used for door jambs or under the hood.
