I've had mine for 20+ years and I believe if used properly will not scratch paint. YMMV.

Used to, but now that my daily is coated I just foam/rinse.

+1 when used right it's a great thing to have.

I used, but don't any more. It increases the risk of micro-marring finish.

I also don't use quick detailer on dust/pollen for same reason. I just wait until i have to wash again.
