For Flex 3401 users ... Anyone else see this?
Is it normal? Anyone know what causes it? Should I be concerned?
Performance hasn't been affected but after every Detail it's really hot..

o ya def hot . almost to hot to touch . I don't even want to put it away until it cooled down

It is aluminum and they chose aluminum for it's great ability to dissipate heat. If it was made of steel the plastic gears would surely melt down. I have been blistered from touching the aluminum gear housing.

It does get hot but the plastic cover creates a barrier between "it" and your hand, it's designed to perform this way. If you look closely you'll see a gap between the metal housing and the plastic guard. This allows constant air flow and an aid in cooling...

Thanks Bobby! I always appreciate your input and points on various aspects of our detailing passion!

Yes, very hot. I, like Elite Pro, just make sure the felt ring is lubricated.
