I was wondering if I could use any wash mitt on my car without causing marring. With good soap and a two bucket method, should that be enough lubrication to stop marring?

More than likely you could use any wash mitt as long as theirs lots of lubrication and just the weight of the mitt though some will prefer a deep nap mitt to trap dirt deep into the fibers also

Technique trumps product most every time, however I wouldn't try washing with a burlap bag and plain water so yes it matters to a point. Its more about personal preference and getting the result your looking for.

If you owned a black car, you wouldn't be asking the question. You'd know the answer is yes.

I don't know if it matters as much what exact mitt you use, as long as it's a quality wash mitt. The AG noodle mitts are good and pretty cheap. I have a bunch of different mitts. All of them are good quality ones. I pretty much use whichever one I feel like.

the megs microfiber wash mitt works well and only cost around $5-$6 and last a pretty long time. i prefer not to stick my hand inside when using it and like to tuck in the cuff. add one to your next order...

Griots wash mitts and pads are nice too. I prefer sheep skin but have a griots and a couple of the Meg's mitts too.

I agree with technique being extraordinarily important, but I have favorite mitts that I feel I get better results with on my black car anyway. CarPro's wool mitt and the chenille MF wash mitts are my go-to mitts.

I love my Meguiars mitt! Wanted to buy a few extras on my last order but they are on backorder right now. Definitely pick one or two up, you won't regret it!
