Hey guys its been a little while since I've been on the forum , how is everyone? Ive been designing a website and I have questions on a domain name, the question is do yall think radiantreflectionsdetailing.com is to long for a web address? Ive thought of a couple others but I want to have my business name in the address. Any feed back or suggestions for a domain name would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Jason

P.S. Radaintreflections.com is taken already.

Doesn't sound bad to me. I'm making a website too, my domain is long but it's what I try to put out there, my name and business. Honestly, it's the content and quality of work you display that counts. But your domain seems fine. I've seen larger. Good luck. If you haven't look into wix. Great service. I will state I do this on the side. So promoting myself like a full time business isn't my priority. I assume you run a nice business and if that's the case I like the domain. :)

Have you tried .net? Or radiantreflectionsonline.com? Don't worry about the length, my photography one is longer.

How does RRAUTODETAILING.COM sound ? its shorter than the other name, I don't want the name to be so long that if someone in traffic sees it they want be able to remember. I will have it on my work van .

Im tring to keep it in the Keep It Simple Stupid category.

I think this one sounds pretty good. I think it would be a lot easier to remember rrautodetailing.com versus radiantreflectionsdetailing.com if you were just driving by.

-See which site is hosting it, then visit that site. Many companies that park these domains also have a brokerage that sell parked domains. So you search under that domain @ the parked site.

Alternatives:
-Type the domain in your url, it may take you to the domain saying this domain is for sale.
-search the domain name on google.

If I remmember right Godady ( I almost typed Buffdady!) sells already registered domains you can Check there too.
Good luck.

Check whois.net. It looks like it is for sale or rent. Also contact register.com.

There are other variations like Radaint-reflections.com to try or maybe have radiantreflections-salem, etc. I ses radientreflection.us. It seems like a beauty product site.

definitely keep your domain under 15 characters if at all possible. You want something short and memorable if at all possible. Remember that KISS absolutely applies here.

What do yall think about having / and or - in a domain name ? For example
radiant-reflections.com ?

First to answer your question,
I don't think a / is allowed in a domain name, however a - is allowed.
People opt for easiest searches, so a domain without a dash is preferred.
In your case since you are using your biz name I think a dash would be ok though.

Now, A few thoughts,

-The point of a domain name is so people will remember it easily, otherwise we are bombarded with hundreds of site names everyday and can barely remmember any of them.
-If your domain name is too long, complicated, or generic then people won't remember it.
-I'd imagine you get most of your customers in this line of work by referals, whether through word of mouth or those who see cars you have done and ask for you.
-the point of having a website then would be to attract those potential clients and show em further. Customers, once established then will search for your site even if they don't remmember your domain.
-I seriously doubt that just a website will bring streams of clients on it's own, unless you are selling products and not services.
-Perhaps used car dealers and car auctions would be a good source for you to find clients.

That's what came to my mind and I hope it is of some help.

Yes I get must of my customers from word of mouth , the main point of a website is for pricing and for showing off work . Thank you for knowledge you have shared I really appreciate it.
