Dont really know how much to charge

PM if you want to know where, but look up the product and you should get there

HD speed 14.99 for 16 oz 21.99 for 32oz (Speed is my new favorite easy to work AIO!)
UNO has the same size/pricing
the Cut and Polish is a bit more expensive at 16 oz for 19.99 and 32 for 29.99

I have not tried it yet. I also purchased Meg's Reconditioning creme. Ever tried it?

I think I will do a comparison between the two next time I have a one step correction to do.

Thank you Beamerstrumpet.

I have actually been eyeing Optimum Spray wax. A lot of optimum products actually.

I have opti coat new, ready to be used, maybe i'll correct my cars paint. And use it on my car.

Their spray compounds and polishes and are body shop safe. If I were working at a body shop again, I'd like to test the compounds out. I might buy some and stop by my uncles shop and test them out. (Compound and polishes)

For the spray wax:
It says 5 months of protection. So this makes me think, that is how the chemist designed it.

^ I wonder how many uses I can do on entire vehicles with the 17 oz bottle. Give or take (of course situations always vary)

I'll just get the gallon and call it a day :)

I've gone through a full gallon of d151. The trick is to not use too much product, and I feel like it works best on a mf pad.

It's tempting to use a little more product, thinking that you'll get a little more cut...but you won't. It will just gum up and can get extremely difficult to wipe off.

Prime the pad with somewhere around 7-8 pea sized drops. Work it in, and then subsequently use only about 2 pea sized drops per 2x2 section.

When used correctly it is super easy to wipe off.

Thanks for the tips Jeremy. I know it's a great product. I have watched a few videos about it and was impressed on how well it works.

I am just curious to know from someone who used both it and speed which one that person prefers. I have a 32 ounce bottle of speed and a gallon of D151... so guess which one I felt would be the best one when I made the purchase? ;)

If you do a comparo I would be interested. I think they are both probably very good. I cant spend any more $$ for a while to find out. I know I like the grape scent of the hd :)

Maybe it's just because I am starting out but the scent really have no impact on me liking a product or not. I am more focused on how well it works and how expensive (or not) it is.

I have some free time thursday and there is one thing I have been wanting to do for a while now: Doing a Trunk in sections with different products. I think I will do: Untreated (to see the mess in the picture) M205/Ultimate polish/HD Speed/Meg Recond. Creme/Ultimate Compound/M105.
I will do 8 section passes with each products, then do an IPA wipedown and take pictures. Since I will have to take pictures of each sections individually, I think I will label them with masking tape. Will shoot a video too.

This is for my website but it will be nice to see the comparisson too.

I also still need to do a slow armspeed vs fast armspeed test. I am sure Mike is right but my guts are telling me different so I have to try it so I can be at peace with it ;) LOL

I just wish my Rupes 21es would arrive already. Been 10 days so far... I hate shipping speed between US and Canada.

Thank you for the compliment. I am still working on the website, it's not to my liking for different reasons. I will be putting in more graphics so it takes a lot of time to setup. I also decided switching from per hour rate to fixed prices because I think the per hour rate scares people away. When I have a stable Customer base I will switch back to per hour rate maybe, but for now I think it's really crippling my business. It might be a cultural thing, but I think here in Montréal people like to see a specific price for something.

Well, back to work, got tons of graphics to produce ;)

have both. you go standard pricing for basics and put a * in it for the anything above and beyond basic cleaning will be XX and hour. or like most p et hair removal,20.00 an hour. (its time consuming and i have not charged anyone for it, just my own dogs!
Just a suggestion.

on your test panel, I would like to see the two as just a straight AIO Vs AIO with out all the compound and polish. the other stuff is great, but production detailing from every thing I read is just AIO. so megs cream vs HD Speed would be a good panel also.
CHEERS!

i just usually have a set rate, but now to think of it i should charge hourly of 35-40 bucks an hour

It's raining like crazy today... of course, Murphy won't let me do my little experiments! ;)

I was crunching numbers yesterday regarding product costs. In an other thread people were telling my estimâtes were off so I decided to make a spreadsheet with all the products I purchased and the cost per ounce (concentrated and diluted).

Turns out Meg's reconditionning creme is really inexpensive, especially for all it does! 0,35$ an ounce. My most expensive product is Ultimate Polish at 1.23$ an ounce. It makes sense since it's an over the counter product that comes in a small bottle. HD Speed is almost as expensive to me, 1.14$ an ounce. So unless it greatly outperforms recond. cream, I see no reason to use it. Recond. Creme also contains sealant so you don't have to seal after saving you a step (well maybe Speed does that too, can't remember).

I really hope my Rupes gets here today... tracking says it's cleared customs yesterday... so it's a matter of hours now.

Ya, I will. It just won't mention it ;) I will put set prices up for each task and calculate the price using a 40$/hour formula. Of course if I take more time it will lower my income and if I do it quicker it will increase it. I just hope my numbers are good for the time for each task. I can always adjust down the road if I see I am off.

Not just slow shipping, getting a nice surprise from customs.... buying locally was more expensive?

Customs charge you the taxes on the item. So it's not more expensive because of it. Now, if you use UPS for shipping, that is different, they charge you 50$ to get it through customs although it only takes them 5 minutes to do it. But AGO ships using USPS and it transfers to Canada Post once on this site of the border. CP only charge you the taxes, so no insane extra fee added.

Ya it was like 150$ less in the US. Plus the Canadian Distributors did not have it in stock (as usual) kinda pisses me off there is never anything in stock in any of the Canadian shops. I always end up having to wait a week or 2 for them to get it in stock then the time to ship it to me. So it's pretty much the same wait no matter where I order.

Well let me know how it works. I guess i just kind of liek how the HD products bottle design looks on my shelf also LOLOL once its gone, I guess Ill try the megs.

That is true Tundra. I have to start analysing what the other detailers are charging. Not a lot are mobile though, and many are more of a car wash than true detailing service. I went to the websites of all the guys showing up when I did a Google search. Most don't have prices on their websites. I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Will have to call around to get some prices.

Trying to figure out what to charge really is pretty tough. I checked out the websites of a few local detail places to me and set my prices around $10 less then the avg prices.
