Don't think I'm using WG trim sealant anymore

The car has been sitting clean in the garage for at least 5 days. I went for a drive today on a bright clear day for about an hour and this is what I find:

It's like it never dries and collects dust like crazy. It does the same thing on my side mirrors on my Silverado. Time to try something else I guess.
 
Are you using Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant (WETS)?

You need to go back and wipe off any excess after a little while, so the surface is dry. This stuff is the bomb and won't collect dust if you wipe off the excess.
 
I've had no problems with it on my plastics. In fact my tonneau cover still beads water after a harsh 3 months of winter!

:iagree:That's been my experience with WETS so far too. Awesome product.
 
Ugh. I like the way it looks when it's first wiped on. Don't really feel like going back and wiping it all again.

I guess I'll start re-wiping but when it's gone I'll look for something else.
 
I used it on one of the pastic pieces on one of my cars and it worked ok. I thought it would darken the piece but it did not look any darker than when it is faded. I'm going to try it again but I have been looking at black wow.
 
One of these days I'm going to get me a sample of WETS. Far too many good reviews not to get at least a 4 oz. bottle next time it goes on sale.
 
I've tried so many dressings and trim restorers. I don't want to start a whole load a crap with any manufacturers here by naming names, but I have to tell you - the only thing I've ever used that lasts is DLux.
 
It looks great when first put on. Slightly shiny and it hid all little scratches.

It just sucks up the dust!!

Not really. When you think of what it does and how long it lasts. Once you apply it you don't have to touch your trim with any dressing for at least a year. It adds visible protection that is unaffected by snow, salt, and sludge.

So, maybe it's 30-40 bucks. You get AT LEAST enough to coat all the trim on 3 or 4 cars. I can name a bunch of products that are "trim restorers" that perform basically like dressings. They last one wash, two if your lucky. Most of those products are in the $20+ range, attract tons of dust, and need to be applied over and over again.

The product has simply saved me so much time. I'll pay for almost anything that saves me time and work while maintaining top results.

I agree with your overall course-of-thought...represented by your thread-starter's title, and, that runs through your thread, OP.

As such:
The below is loosely-based on a Mike Phillips' adage:
"When I find something I don't like, I don't use it anymore"!

CarPro PERL is another similar alternative. Mix with water as directed, apply to plastic trim and wipe excess....:props:
 
Yes don't waste time on black wow it won't be up to your expectations and you will be told you did something wrong and everyone else not on this website has great results lol.
