dont you just hate it.....

You say, "If anything I would probrobly have more respect for the car and owner for being able to push the boundaries of what the engineers had originally design". So putting a fart cannon and lowering the car is "pushing the boundaries"? Reving it and wanting to race a car that can easily pull bus lengths on you is "pushing the boundaries"? Really? How many guys out there actually take the time to build a honda right? like 20% compared to 80% who are the ones with the fart cannons and huge wings, nos stickers, type-r badges, bondo patches all over the car, "i love my honda" stickers. Read my very first post and see why its so annoying.
How do you know you would have pulled bus length on this "Honda" how do you he wouldn't have pulled bus length on you? Just because your brothers mustang had a Pony emblem or a "fart cannon" on it doesn't mean it's fast. Just as many times you have seen those stickers and wings on a "Honda" I have seen plenty on mustang specially with the fear this sticker.

sorry if i forgot to mention but its a 08 mustang GT with full exhaust and other "bolt ons". I know what it is capable of doing. its putting down just a little over 300hp to the wheels. like i said, theres probably 15% to 20% right done hondas out there. This one that was annoying me sure wasent one of it. A Right done honda wont have a huge ridiculous wing and type r stickers on it.

A 4.6 litre Mustang with bolt ons is no where near fast lol ....

ill will tell you this. Put a stock honda civic and a new v6 base model camaro side to side and you tell me whats the sport car. Hell ask anyone and they will immediately tell you the v6 camaro is more of a sports car. Put a Honda accord next to ANY bmw and the BMW has more characteristics of a sports car than the honda. Now im not saying some Ford or Chevy mini van is a sports car because that would just be pathetic to say. But tell me this, Grab a stock honda. 100% stock. How much can that motor handle before you even open up the motor or do a motor swap?

For starters, whether or not I support Honda, I already pointed out I do not like the mufflers people put on them. I believe the Honda Civic would be comparable to a Chevy Cruze and the Civic puts out more power.

I mean you put someone at 120 lbs in the ring with someone weighing 240 lbs and claim the 120 lb man of course people are going to raise an eye, it is called a rigged fight.

The V6 Camaro puts out 312/278 hp/ft-lbs and a V6 Accord (not ment to be "sportly" like a Camaro but at least has a similar size engine) puts out 271/254 and weighs about 380 lbs less. Put the Accord in its class against a Malibu and the Accord is hands down sportier because the Malibu's best offering is 169 HP.

I will skip the BMW to Accord idea and just say that take any BMW your going to claim is sports car compared to the Accord, and it is more of sports car than your Camaro also.

Clearly they have never experienced American muscle.....

There just ain't anything like it! :props:

The same thing happens to me allot driving my Z06. Jerks come flying up behind me then hitting the brakes or pass me in their rice burners with a fart can hanging off the back bumper. Take a stock civic, add a fart can and a few flairs and BAM, you have a race car...

Happens to me all the time...I love the kids with the "loud" aftermarket rice burner exhaust kits...you know, the ones with the single 6" pipe coming out the back....yeah, right...!...my Camaro intimidates the hell out of them, or perhaps its just envy, but I do get a kick out of it nonetheless, so I don't hate it....because what scares me more..is that these people get to vote..!..

I wouldn't judge a book on its cover. maybe that's what the owner(s) liked You know what they say when you "assume" you make an "ass" out of "U" and "Me" And like you said "depends on how you look at it"

And I know with 100% confident that a civic with a bolt on kit can push out 300+whp no problem combined with its light frame... Civic wins!

Not to say some of the imports aren't fast, but yes, it irritates me when a smart-a-- punk in a POS car with a loud muffler thinks it's the fastest thing on the road.

Back in the 80s, when new performance cars were not much more than decals, I had a young guy rib me about my '68 Charger R/T with the 'small' 440. I took him out on a country blacktop road with no traffic, stopped, burned a 180 and proceeded to do an acceleration 'test' with the back tires smoking through 1st and much of 2nd. Shifted to drive around 100, and chirped the tires, and backed off at 125 when he said "Slow this S O B Down!" I said don't judge high performance by decals and mufflers. "Just how fast WILL this thing GO?" I pointed to the 150 mph speedometer, and he said "Holy Sh--"!

I don't have a car that will do that anymore, but I like to think I have more sense than to do it on the public road again. (But it would be fun at the moment). Now, I either ignore them, or bark like a dog, and that really ticks 'em off.

I had a Honda pull up next to my XLR-V and rev his engine. I just laughed. When he pulled away at light change he cut me off.. I was just about to show him what a 442hp engine in performance mode could do and wouldn't you know a police officer was watching the whole thing. He pulled out of the driveway he had been watching from, quickly turned on his lights and blasted his siren and pulled the little green Honda over. There is a God in heaven.. As I drove by the pulled over mad as hell driver I waved!.

I once had a honda civic that I built awhile back and I was minding my own business at a light, when a guy in a Z06 pulled up next to me with his girl in the passenger seat. He started to rev his engine so I entertained him and did the same. End result I beat him, he did however get me off the line but once I was in second I starred to catch up and third I was gone.
Would I ever street race again hell no. Point of the story is there is always some bigger and badder than you. just because you finance a $50k car doesn't mean you own it.

I LOVE THESE THREADS!!!!!

I'm all for American Muscle (LS1 raised) :)... In fact the next car I purchase is going to be a Dodge Challenger...

However... that being said, I have an 06 altima that is a little beyond "stock" and I love it when the "bad asses" in new mustangs and camaro's roll up on me just because they see my exhaust and rev their engine like they are going to own me...

However, once they get smoked by a little four door grocery getter it's funny to me how all of their windows go up and they crawl off at the next light like I just kicked their dog...

That mentality that every car with a coffee can on it is slow, and can't do anything is a little askewed IMO... Because it seems I have 2 coffee cans on the back of my altima:

Are you saying that a mustang or Camaro rolled up on you and start revving their engine? That's doesn't seem right, are you sure it wasn't a honda with a wing 24' high and a bunch of stickers with a fart cannon? No way possible a mustang or Camaro would do such thing. =) that would be so annoying. ( Being sarcastic)

I use to have this happen all the time when I would drive my Trans Am. It was always fun to rev back and the sound of my exhaust would drown out theirs

I've also had a civic pull up that made about as much power as my car. You can always tell the difference in sound from real power and just a loud muffler

i have a heavy 300c with 22in wheels and sound system. the car has a nice 345 hp engine and it can move but its really no competition for these other "race" cars but people still like to challenge me. if i feel like it then i accept and if i'm really feelin good then once i'm ahead i like to get in their lane and pretty much end the race. 2 fast 2 furious yo.

Ya dig?

Seriously though, I have respect for anybody that takes a vehicle to the next level. My preference is Ford, though.

That is a perfect statement... it is so true :props:

are you talking about v6 or v8 mustangs and camaros

Those altimas have some balls off the line. My mom had one when I got my license.
