I've always wanted to try out a no-rinse wash. I finally broke down and bought some of DP's 4-in-1 Rinseless Wash. I recieved a call last night from a customer needing his '69 Camaro detailed. He was going to attend a show and wanted it polished and re-waxed. This was the perfect candidate for this new to me type of wash. It's pretty much garaged but he does drive it about 2 days a week to work. There was plent of grit on it along with water spots. The tires and wheels were pretty dirty with brake dust. In my opinion, to dirty fro a quick detailer to be used. After reading a couple of other posts, I decided on a single bucket for this one. I wanted to go perfectly by the directions so my ShMitt was not used this time. I put 2 gallons of water into my 5 gallons bucket. I measured out 2oz. of solution and poured it in. There were no suds at all. I expected this. The solution was oily smelling. Sorta like olive oil to me. I dunked my micro fiber towel in and took it to the roof. No pretreating on this one. I rung the towel out some to get the roof wet. I did half the roof and returned to the bucket after drying with my Guzzler. Junk just came out and hit the bottom! I was so impressed with just this alone. I proceeded to finish the car working from top to the bottom. Then I did the wheels and tires along with the wells. This process took me under 2 minutes and there was barely any water on the ground. Simply an awesome process! There were no added swirls or marring. I'm very pleased and excited with this new product.

Next, I went on to finish the detail. Here's the rest of the story.

DP's Finishing Polish
(Used EDGE2K Blue Finishing Pad at a Rotary Speed of 1000RPMs)
Yes......a rotary was used. There will be an upcoming review on it with a few more details under it's belts. Let's just say it's the best 30.00 I've spent to date!!! I only wanted to polish and remove any existing waxes and grime. Plus, being new to the rotary, is why I elected to use such a soft pad. Even so, there still was some cut and cleaning. No dusting and ample work time. Simply a good polish.

DP's Max Wax
(2 Coats applied and removed by hand)
Having used Max Wax on this car in it's previous detail, I stayed with it. It had been 2 months and there was still an awesome glow. The customer loved the look as well. I put on on coat, waxing and removing one panell at a time. I then did the interior and came back with a second coat. Nothing but a wet, deep finish.

Other Products Used:
DP's Total Interior Cleaner
(All vinyl and plastic surfaces)
DP's Interior Protectant
(All vinyl and plastic surfaces)
DP's High Gloss Tire Gel
(Applied with Eagle One Applicator)
DP's Wheel Glaze
(Applied with Terry Applicator and removed with a Micro-Fiber Towel)
DP's Krystal Vision Glass Cleaner
(Cleaned with waffle weave glass towel)
DP's Surface Spray Shield
(Sprayed on glass and removed with Micro-Fiber Towel)
I use this instead of Rain-X. It will not streak on glass and has lasted on my truck's windows for over 2 months now.

My wash equipment. I did not used the ShMitt this time. It will be tested tomorrow though.

Awsome car and nice job, those wheels look out of place on it though....I would have gone with a nice set of Welds or some other forged/billet type wheel. Did you say you got the rotary for $30?

That’s great I received some as a free gift (Thanks Meghan) but have not tried it yet. I can not wait!

Great job

Im not so "comfy" with that type of car washing, but by the result you got, it doesnt seem to scratch the car.

How did ShMiTT take it? left alone in the car watching you wash with another mit? :)

Yep. You heard correct. 32.58 shipped. Looks like a nice machine huh? It really is. I'll be reviewing it soon with more details under it's belt.

WHERE? lol:D

What a machine and what a review! I might seriously have to consider checking out the DP Line of products.

In regards to DP: is it owned by Autogeek?

That is one cool car... but I could do without the wheels also. Wow, 30 bucks for a rotary... it is tempting, but I should restrain myself. So you feel with the right technique the 4 in 1 is perfectly safe on the paint or maybe best saved for cars that are a little dirty?

Yes, DP is AG's product, along with Wolfgang and Pinnacle.

Nice job Justin, looks great. I'm with everyone else though.....the first thing I thought was "those wheels don't go well with that car"! The car is sitting too high.....very nice looking ride though. DP products are fantastic!

Not to be a pain , but that's a 68 camaro. Looks really good though.I picked up a new customer today with a yellow lambo, his wife's bentley and also her G500. I was doing his neighbor's King ranch truck and Porsche 968 today when he approached me. Dont ask me how i did it , cause he almost speaks no english. I have to go back and also do his Harley and wife's Caddy.

That's a real pretty car and as always you made it look great. I agree with the above poster that those wheels need to be removed. The car is sitting too high and the sidewalls are too thick.

That's one sweet ride. Great job and review, Justin.
I have 4-in-1, but never used it as rinseless wash. Used it as a clay lube and QD though. It's far away form Pinnacle clay lube (best one I tried up to date), but works well enough. And I really like the cost.

I actually like the wheels. I'm not a retro guy though. I'm actually looking into getting a body from Year One and making a car myself. It will have all the electronics though of a current car but with the retro look.

The rotary is an amazing deal for the money. I tried out a Makita last night at a local bodyshop and could not tell the difference between the two!

As for the 4-in-1, I just wanted to practice with this car. I'm doing that red Mustang convertible today and it's pretty dirty. I might blast off the lower rockers if there is cakes on mud but I like using this technique. I will save me time and water. It will be awesome in the sun this summer too since you wash and dry together.

Hmmm...if I get a rotary then I'll just pry pick that one up since you can still use the Edge pads, especially for 30 bucks and if you didn't know a difference between it and one that cost quite a bit more $.

Those wheels are still erking me though lol. It would look so much meaner if he went to some 18" Welds, or some other clean looking forged/billet type wheel and lowered it. Backa couple months ago, I almost bought a 66' Chevelle that was bad ass. All black, slightly lowered on some forged wheels, manual trans, 383 stroker with a blower. The interior was awsome, had custom Recarro's and the dash was mostly custom to look modern, even the display was all digital. I thought he was asking to much at the time, and called back about 2 months later as I changed my mind, he sold it:(. I am kicking myself so bad in the ass lol.

Justin-

I can't wait to read your review of this rotary buffer. I was toying around with the idea of stepping up to one myself. I know in the future I will not have the same amount of time to dedicate to detailing and a rotary could significantly speed up the process.

I'm really struggling with windows...

How do you like the Vision glass compared with all other window cleaners? How well does it work in sun and heat?

As for a window protectant, is surface shield spray the best you've use to date? Have you ever tried AIO on windows? Can you compare AIO to surface shield?
