DP Gel Wheel Cleaner and DP Wheel Glaze

I desided to try out DP cleaning line today.

Wheels:
I started off with DP Gel Wheel Cleaner. The products says its a "gel" but it is more like a spray. It is thicker the Mother All Purpose Wheel Cleaner and Megs Wheel Brightener but not as thick as P21S. So I started by straying the wheels and tires from top to buttom with DP Gel Wheel Cleaner. I used various brushes to clean the rims and tires. DP Gel Wheel Cleaner did an excellent job cleaning the rims and tires. It took the dirt off the rims and tires with ease. And with a price at $16.99 you cant beat it. After the car was completely washed and dried I appled DP Wheel Glaze to the rims. This has to be one of my favortie products not only does it protect the rims and keep them clean longer it leave the rims very shiny.

Today, I have received DP Wheel glaze but I didn't have a chance ( winter is coming ) to try it yet. I hope to have a chance to try it before winter. I'm really happy to see that it's a good product.

Nice! I also like gel wheel cleaner only, otherwise it is just not worth the money. Recently on my daily driver I sealed my wheels with FK1000p for ultimate winter protection. From what I've heard, it is one of the most durable wheel sealants you can get, next to Nanolex...that should be better then 2 weeks from Poorboy's wheel sealant...I'm expecting 6-10 weeks from the 2 coats I've done...

I have used it on my Dad's 22'' XD wheels on his H2. I taught it worked great kept the chrome from getting water sports

I'm sorry but 2 coat of PB wheel sealant last for 8 good weeks. No joke, PB WS is my favorite product.

maybe it depends on how many miles you travel, and so on...but seriously, after I tried FK1000p, PB wheel sealant is collecting dust...

I just got a chance to use DP Wheel Glaze tonight. It applied very easy, but I thought it was hard to get off. It did make the rims shinier and slicker, but I yet have to see whether or not it repels dust as claimed. I'll drive the G tomorrow to see if it will repel my Brembo dust!!!

I've used the wheel glaze on my 07 Maxima, and I'm really impressed with the results. My wheels had yellowish, brake dust stains and the wheel glaze took the stains right out! It goes on very easily but takes a little elbow grease to take off.

You will still get brake dust on the wheels it wont built up as fast, all you'll have to do is wipe it off. Also a little goes a long way remember that next time you use DP Wheel Glaze because if you put it on thick it is a pain to take off

BTW, DP Wheel Glaze is not difficult to use. It comes off like a regular car wax. Just apply and buff it off with a microfiber towel. No big deal. As to whether it lasts longer than other sealants, I would bet that applied to a coated wheel, the most durable sealant (or wax) will last the longest, just like on any other painted surface. Hence, all the opinions........think of "life on a wheel". Lots of dirt, heat, friction...........

Nope, it will clean as well.....consider it like an off the shelf, OTC cleaner/wax. Lot's of them out there......in fact, they'd probably work fine too!

I beg to differ on your comment of it comes off like a regular car wax. DP maxwax or Souveran come off like butter... this glaze on my rim was like old school wax. It needed more elbow grease. I was hoping there was a wheel glaze that comes off just as easy as, say, WG 3.0 Deep Gloss Sealant...

Sure, it's a little more than applying, say Opti-Seal that you just wipe on or any of the carnaubas (which wouldn't last on wheels for very long), but difficult.....no. Bending down or sitting on a stool hunched over to do four wheels in the first place is work......rubbing the wheels with an MF towel to take DP Glaze off isn't. Come on , it's not hard like old school wax, either. How old is "old" to you?

haha... good point. Now I FEEL old... lol. Yeah, it's not difficult to remove by any means, it's just that it needs more elbow grease to remove than paint waxes/sealants. That's all I was sayin'. Was hoping there was an easy to remove wheel glaze out there... I mean really easy. But yeah you're right, a lot of the effort is bending down and hurting my back from that awkward position. hehe... Exactly............the back takes a beating no matter what. The only way it would be "easy" is if somebody would take the wheels off the car for you, wash them well, dry them and put them up on a work bench so you could glaze & seal them.......and then, when you're done with one side....come back and flip them over for you. And of course, do the remount!! Now that would be "easy"!!!

I like the DP Glaze, but I'm going to add to it with a sealant next time I wash them......like this weekend, if the weather forecaster is right. If you want a really durable (and I mean bulletproof) OTC sealant product, which can be used on your wheels too......get some Black Magic Wet Shine Liquid Wax. That is what I would call "harder" to remove......BUT.......you will not be disappointed in its shine when buffed AND it is super durable. Give it a try if you want some extra back exercise!!
