Came across my brother-in-law on my way to Costco today and his car still looks great after almost 15 months.

He said he just recently washed it and has never put any wax on it.

I took a couple of pictures while stopped at a traffic light with my cell phone.

Here's the original write-up and detail over a year ago.

Car looks nice...but, how do you know BL is still on it?

Re: Black Label Coating Still Looking Good After 1 Year

That's a good question....sure looked glossy.

I would have to see how the water beads on it.

I'll see if I or my brother-in-law can take a picture of it while it's wet.

The first indicator that the coating is still present is the gloss.

Looking forward to future updates Frank. :dblthumb2:

I think the PA winters would have killed it long before then. Vehicle looks great tho!

15 months without topper and wax?
That smart brabus look high gloss.
What he had been using to wash?

He's never put any topper or wax since the Black Label was applied.

He's been washing it with DP Auto Bath Shampoo which is no longer available, it's been replaced with DP Power Wash.

Looks good.

I had similar results. Still looks great after a year in FL, so that's saying something

Re: Black Label Coating Still Looking Good After 1 Year

Is it because Smart cars are made of plastic so the panels dont absorb heat like metal?

The car is kept in the garage at night but it's parked outside, exposed to the weather, while he's at work during the day.

IMO:
Since "plastic panels" don't dissipate heat very well over a large area...as will metal panels...
That absorb-analogy may not be exemplary.

I've been impressed with the Black Label brand. Very good products.

I coated an Equus last December and it's still just as glossy when I did the service. I would be interested to see what would happen if you clay the car. How much "stuff" is actually stuck to the coating and does it refresh the original surface characteristics of the coating?

Well for now we know it works on plastic cars :xyxthumbs:

I meant I had similar experience and my car sits out 24/7

There's plastic...and then there's "plastic". :xyxthumbs:
How about bumpers that are clad with some sort of plastic?

Looking good! Was DP or BL coating put on? I thought in the original thread DP was applied to paint and BL to headlights? Maybe I'm getting confused but either way impressive stuff for simply maintenance washes!

Wow...you are correct! My bad...it was DP Paint Coating!

For some reason I thought I used Black Label on the paint. BL was used on the wheels and headlights. DP was used on the paint.

Wish I could change the title!

That makes the results of this 1 year update
even more impressive! :props:
