Had a chance to dress our cars the other weekend with old formula DP Tire Gel. I used a terry-cloth covered applicator because the Bridgestones on my car have a gazillion little hash lines and chevrons. A straight foam applicator simply didn't get into all the little crevices but the terry cloth covered pad did the trick. Once I got the method down and got the pad primed, it applied smoothly and evenly using only a nickle-sized drop per tire, and I was probably over applying at that rate. I waited 30 min per instructions and did a second coat.

DP Tire Gel is not highly glossy or a deep wet look. Rather it gives the "brand new, just off the rack" look to the tires that I prefer.

It's been a week and one good rain, and the look is still like I just applied it; no sling. No pics right now as there have been plenty of posts showing the as-applied look. It's supposed to rain a few days next week, so I'll post some photos later to give an idea of durability.

DP gives the look I prefer and if holds up as well as I expect and others have indicated, I've found my tire dressing. And I got it on BOGO. Thanks AG. :dblthumb2:

Nice review and I have to agree with everything you said.... I did a similar review last summer and came aways with the same outstanding results.. Like you I have two thanks to BOGO offer...:props:

I wonder how the new Pro-Series formula compares to the original?

Thanks Heavy Metal, Is this the Old-Old Formula or the Old-New formula? I'm guesiing the Old-New.

LOL, is it white or green? The green (old-old) doesn't dry to the touch, the white (old-new does dry to the touch) The old-new is my favorite tire gel currently. Not sure if the new-new is different than the old-new.

It's the new-old formula - white. Just got it a few weeks ago. I'm really liking this stuff. Of course I was using Armour-All and Megs OTC products before I found the detailing sites so my product background ain't all that great. Compared to those, any of the pro level products will obviously impress me. That being said, thanks to the guys here (like you and Bobby G) I pulled the trigger as soon as I saw DP on BOGO.

Feed back please

i have both the new and the old. and there both very nice!!!!! love d/p

Thought I'd give an update. It's been a little over 3 weeks since I used the DP Tire Gel and it held up very well to the currently nasty PA weather. I re-applied last nite when I washed and waxed. It's raining AGAIN today and the DP is beading very nicely. We're supposed to get rain nearly every day for the rest of the week and into next so this will be another good test. So far I'm quite impressed. Maybe one of these days the weather will actually be nice enuf a couple days in a row so I can take some pics. Sorry but with nice weather so scarce, the last thing I'm gonna do is take time for photos y'all have seen a million times anyway.

I have the same formula. Corey and all his newoldnewnewoldnew mumbo jumbo is confusing. Lol. Anyway I like the formula I have very much. I have the same findings as you.

I have the green formula and like it. So long as I thoroughly clean my tires, I never get sling. My method is to wash my tires twice (wash, rinse, wash again) just to make sure my tire is completely clean, apply a coating and then leave it to dry over night. The next day when I swipe the tires with a towel, almost no excess comes off because is dries so well.

I also use to product to dress my windshield wiper blades. By regularly cleaning my wiper blades during my weekly wash and dressing them ever few weeks or maybe every month, my blades never chatter and last forever. I have been dressing my wiper blades for several years and I cannot remember the last time I had to replace them. I guess dressing them prevents or greatly slows down dry rotting.

LOL, Well, there was a Green Tire Gel that did not dry to the touch. Then there was a formula change that made the DP Tire gel look a lot more like the Optibond Tire Gel. This new formula also dried to the touch and I think was a vast improvement over the Old green gel. Then the new bottling/packaging of DP was introduced. I am not sure if the formula changed again at that point but it was such a great product at this point I doubt it changed.

I understood what you were saying, but it reminded me of this. LOL!

I agree, I love the old-new version too, when they were clearing out the stock, I had to take advantage.

so does any one know the difference between the old-new and the new new?and will there be a black market for the old?

and will there be a black market for the old?

Dude, it's tire gel, not cocaine or Russian AKs. And the new DP is supposedly a bit better - no blackmarket necessary.

I like it because it's the first professional-level, non-OTC one I tried, I got it BOGO and it works great (just like I was told). On Cee Dog's recommend I also got UTTG. I was just gonna use it for trim becasue of its cost, but CD has convinced me to try it on tires. It'll go on the wife's Lexus. DP is more than adequate for the RAV4.
