DP Total Headlight Restoration kit

Doesn't look like u did wrong. You may need to wet sand or the rest of the haze may be inside.

This is a Toyota Highlander correct? I did headlight restoration on a pair before and got the same results. The rest of the haze is inside so i agree with DCJredline that those will be your best results.

I never knew that some hazing could be coming from the inside.
So that is possible? But i have experienced with headlights that was in REALLY BAD SHAPE, completely oxidized and yellowed.

I was able to bring back CRYSTAL CLEAR CLARITY back to the headlights.

Does anyone know why some headlights oxidization is purely on the outside instead of inside?

For some applications, there's no replacement for sanding. No compound or polish is going to compare to the abrading action of a piece of sand paper.

Even if you implemented a sanding step, the DP kit would still save you a lot of time versus a conventional headlight restoration system. \

Edit: A couple other members also made a good point - the hazing might be on the inside of the lens. If this is the case, the only fix is to replace the headlights.

:props:

Some of the "haze" in my experiences has been moisture, but other than that I can only assume that the same hazing that happens to the outside of the lens can happen to the other side of it also.

Second: I didnt buy the kit but I do have the DP polish and sealant. I had an Equinox in a couple weeks ago and I decided to try just the DP polish (no sanding) I used a 3" LC backing plate, an orange 3" foam pad, and my Dewalt cordless drill. I was STUNNED when I wiped off the polish, thought for sure I was going to have to at least wet sand slightly.

Heres a couple pics

For about 6 minutes of work they looked great

I did use the drill to begin with. I believe I said after the second set of headlights the backing plate started coming apart.

It looks to be similar to the one in this kit, albeit larger:

CCS Spot Buffs 4 Inch Foam Pad Kit

^^ This backing plate delaminated after 1 set of headlights.

The backing plate is worthless, imho.

I'd just up the anti to a proper DA backing plate and forget about the one included.

Sorry to hear this AIO isn't 'cutting' it for you.

It may be that one needs to do a few sanding steps, on bad headlights, then the AIO with wool to take out the sanding marks.

Ivan, what can you say about these products vs, say, the Diamondite Headlight restoration kit?

I actually have had the Diamondite kit before, honestly it was no better than M105 and 205. In fact the Meguiar combo could easily beat the Diamondite out of water.

Also as Nick points out, this does in fact speed things up.
SO I am thinking sanding with 500 / 800 then use the DP AIO?
Will DP AIO remove 800 grit sand mark?
