I purchased the DP wheel coating when it was on sale and this past weekend I got around to doing my wheels...they are 10 yr old stock cobra wheels with some marks on them here and there but overall im extremely happy with the results, I cant even wipe them without my hand slipping off them. I cleaned them with diablo gel then clayed and prepped with DP prep polish then a few sprays of the coating and polish off super quick and easy

Dear Friends

I just finished washing the van's wheels and tires thoroughly in preparation for applying DP Wheel Coating.

After the coating is applied and cured, may I use Iron X on the hubs without affecting the coating? My hubs are rusty and I don't want to try to fix that before applying the coating, mainly because I believe the only way I'm going to fix the hubs is to take the wheels off, clean them thoroughly, and paint them with a rust-resistant paint.

Thanks in advance for responding.

Dear Friends

This stuff is super-easy to apply, right? Spray on, rub in with foam (finger pocket) applicator, wipe off with microfiber? Final wipe off is much, much easier than wiping off DP Wheel Glaze, right?

It looked like it mostly got rid of itself to me by flashing off like a glass cleaner. The final wipe revealed a bright shine.

This is how it was supposed to go, right?

This is the first time I've applied a coating of any type, so I'd appreciate it if someone who knows how this works can let me know if I did it correctly.

If I did this correctly, a single application of DP Wheel Coating requires only about twenty percent of the effort of a single application of DP Wheel Glaze.

Dear Friends

What about applying Zep 505 degreaser to the tires every week? Will the overspray/drip affect the coating?

have the DP WHEEL COATING on my xterra for a few months now. really holding up well! wheels clean up nice with just soap & water.

jaddie, it was super easy to apply. i did no special prep, other than started out with clean wheels. applied with a foam finger pocket. now the wheels only need soap & water to clean them! as far as other chemicals, i still have to use a tire cleaner, and did not notice any effect on the coating. this stuff works! and a bonus is that it also gives the wheels a nice shine. a win win.

Dear pro_4x

What are you using to clean your tires?

Thank you for responding.

MEGS APC. and westlys bleach white. lol....dont laugh. awesome white letter/tire cleaner.

I've used both the glaze and coating, I found the glaze somewhat difficult to buff off. The coating was super easy! Just as you said, wipe on with finger pocket and lightly buff with an MF towel. Extremely easy!

Dear pro_4x

If the coating will survive Bleach White I bet it'll survive Zep 505 industrial degreaser.

I know Bleach White is awesome. I remember using it on some white-letter tires back in the '80s.

Dear StangFan

I've been through an entire tub of the glaze. It took twenty-five months to finish, but I did it. It worked well, but this new coating is such a breeze to apply and wipe off compared to the glaze--and it lasts a lot longer to boot.

I appreciate your response. I'm still inexperienced in detailing and when something's very easy and doesn't involve a lot of elbow grease, I suspect something is amiss. I'm glad to know you had a similar experience with the great ease of DP's new wheel coating.
