Dr. Beasley's Glass IQ: Review + longevity test results

Hey everyone, I wanted to test this product and post the results for anyone who's interested in checking it out.

I'll be testing it out 50/50 on both my windshield and rear window.
I started off by cleaning the glass with Megs D114 and a fresh clean waffle weave towel. Next I sprayed more D114 and used a clay towel to decontaminate and ensure a clean smooth surface.

Taped down the middle, and layed down a fresh clean towel to cover up the other half of the glass and sprayed about 10-12 pumps directly onto the glass.

I let it sit for about 20-30 seconds and slowly wiped it across the glass with a brand new [freshly washed] short nap microfiber, flipping to a clean side for the final wipe.

It didn't seem like anything special had just taken place, so I applied a second coating to ensure proper coverage...

Same for the rear glass. 2 full applications, back to back.

The description of Dr. Beasley's Glass IQ states that you'll have never seen your glass this clear and shiny, etc... My honest initial impression is I can't see a difference between both sides. I can't even see where the tape line was... I guess it goes to show that clean glass is clean glass, and it's not going to somehow leap above clean glass.

But the real test is whether or not it'll repel dust & dirt and stay cleaner than the other half of the glass. I plan to leave the glass untouched and provide updates. Thanks for reading.

Coating your windshield with a true nano-ceramic coating makes a huge difference when driving in foul weather. This one from Dr. B's is a glass cleaner with an added glass sealant. I've used a few others like this and have never been impressed by their water repellant claims.

If you are interested in coating, I would however highly suggest picking a coating up like McKee's for $35. Get the one labeled for paint and use it on your whole car. Now this is just my own assumption and I have no evidence to back this claim up but- flame suit on - I'm fairly certain there is no chemical difference between McKee's paint, glass, or wheel coating. It's the same product in different bottles.

Day 1: I guess Dr. Beasley's definition of "anti fog" doesn't include the kind we get in the morning.

So far both sides look identical...

I tried Mckee's Paint Coating prior to this.. It did absolutely nothing on the glass. Lol.
I tried it twice in fact, second time I prepped with the Coating Prep Polish. I did everything but throw in a little prayer... Still nothing happened. Lol.

Hope it works better than another product they offer. I watched "Glass Serum" disappear right before my eyes during a rain storm. Beading water flying off the glass. Then a few minutes later there was just sheets of water on my glass. I bet CG butter wet wax would have held up longer.

Yup. Sometimes my car is a bit like Christine. Meaning it's got a mind of its own and certain products just refuse to work on it. Seriously so many products I've lost count. This is starting off very familiar.

Like others have said, appreciate the honest feedback/review. Too many "kool-aid" drinkers around, looking for the latest/greatest. I've purchased a lot of products from AG over the last two years, but have found what works/doesn't work for me so I'm not so tempted to buy the latest/greatest.

Yea I know what you mean... I think it was someone from Optimum who explained something about how you wouldn't want your interior glass to be hydrophobic? But then this product says it's hydrophobic and also claims to be a great anti fog on your interior glass... Believe me, I thought the same thing even before I bought it.

Ok here's the 5 day update:
I haven't touched the glass.. I even drove to work with a fogged up windshield and resisted using my wiper blades just to allow the surface to remain untouched for as long as possible...

Here's what my windshield looks like today. There's some kind of spots that have occurred on the exterior glass, not sure if they're water spots or dirt, but they're on there. [this shot gives a view of both sides]

Here's a pic focusing on the drivers side of the windshield which has been treated with the Beasley's Glass IQ. Notice how much spotting has occurred, it clearly has done nothing to prevent it at all. It's actually worse on this side...

Later in the day, my cat decided to walk on my windshield... It turned out to be a good test to see if the Glass IQ could prevent smudging like it claims.. It didn't prevent fingerprints/smudging.

...Tomorrow's the day we're finally supposed to see some rain. We'll see how it does in the water behavior department. So far this product has been an epic fail.

Very nice review, and thanks for the follow up.

I think that base coatings are susceptible to spotting. Not necessarily permanent spotting (as in requiring polishing to remove), but I feel like the beading can be part of the problem. If the beads stay put, they evaporate and leave whatever mineral deposits are present. I'm.much more a fan of sheeting, although I know some question what sheeting actually represents.

Anyway, looking forward to further posts covering performance and durability.

Its funny, some of these products just cant outperform good ole RainX, which is a fraction of the price. I personally have found Nanoskin Rain to be as good as rainX but lasts longer. Havent tried anything else that outperforms RainX, beleive it or not.

Final update: Ok so we've got rain️ And both sides look totally identical.. Nothing special happening on the Dr. Beasley's side.

Same results on the windshield.

...and as far as glass beading... All glass beads. At least that's the way It's always been for me. I've never not once seen my glass not bead.

Conclusion: This is the 1st detail product I've ever bought that failed to deliver on every claim. And to top it off it costs a whopping $15 per 4oz. RTU making it pound for pound the biggest load of hype I've ever been duped into buying.

I rate this product a zero.
