Dr. Colorchip (before, during and after)

It isn't blending the paint, it's removing the excess Dr colorchip paint so it sits flush with the factory clear.

The Dr colorchip paint is specially formulated to dissolve with the sealact solution, then dry hard.

Can anyone figure out what the pink solution ("Sealact") is made of? I've been trying to figure out what is in it to make the paint blend so well but i am stumped.

Proprietary no doubt, buts some sort of diluted-weakened solvent of some sort I figure, naptha, mineral spirits, alcohol, ?

And perhaps a very mild polish-abrasives which settle quickly in this formulation.

It is good, I got very decent results after a bit of a learning curve.

My thinkings about the Dr C Chip goods, are it might depend upon what paint you are trying to fix, and what's the underlying primer color? I had some difficulty with a Summit White Tahoe, where the underlying primer looks very dark. Thus, it was hard for what appeared to be a somewhat translucent white paint to fill, and hide.

My biggest dislike of my personal undertaking with colorchip, an initial gross mismatch of paint color, which I had to work with them over a few weeks to get close, and the one major dislike, was that this touch up paint was dull in comparison to a two stage base-clearcoat paint finish.

That even after polishing with polishes, and a DA. I could still see dullness in these touch up areas.

Did Dr C Chip slip with my personal order? Maybe so. Still, such touchups I did with this product look much better than raw, nasty missing paint in such areas, that one does have to look real close to detect. I know they are there, hell I know every square centimeter of the vehicle, but a lay person to come by, and search for them they'll have themselves a serious search.

As I close about comments, it is most definitely highly important to put something in such chips. Especially if you live in the land of Rock Salt all winter long. And Dr Colorchip is about the easiest and the best system I've ever used. They certainly have a future customer with me, should a new ride come along. Chips are a fact of life, no matter what you own.

Any chip if you fail to address it, will only get worse as time passes. Nothing will cure such ills as a paint will.
