I'm going to be using colorchip on my daily driver's road rash after compounding and polishing the car in a few weeks. Their site says to wait a week to wax over the paint, but given that it's my daily driver I can't leave it in the garage for that long and I'm certainly not driving it with zero protection on the paint.

So I am curious if anyone has waxed/coated over the colorchip paint within a day or two of application? If so, did it have any adverse effect?

I am going to be coating the car with DG's ceramic coating (that I got dirt cheap during AG's black friday cyber sales :xyxthumbs:)

Just don't wax the part you touch up, you an wax the rest of the car. Driving with no protection for a week is nothing to be concerned about.

I just finished doing a full compound and polish on my daily driver last weekend, and I do plan on doing the Dr. Colorchip fix to it this weekend - it's got chips all over the front and many elsewhere as well.

After I was done with the paint correction on it this past weekend, I applied a wax to the entire car - well, Megs NXT 2.0, so I guess a sealant. I wasn't about to drive it 75 miles a day in the Phoenix sun and dust without any LSP.

This weekend, when I get to applying the Dr. Colorchip, I'm just going to take some IPA to the areas where there are chips to remove the LSP from the specific spots. I'll apply the paint and leave it until next weekend, at which time I will be applying another coat of the NXT 2.0 to the entire car. This way, the 'good' parts of the car are still protected until the fixed chip sections are cured.

Darn, I am about to spend a couple days on my car and use Dr. Colorchip and coat shortly after.... So is that a no no?
