Dr colorchip reviews

they rec. 30 min days before polishing? how long for it to cure and apply wax atop of? 1-3 days? safe bet a week and go with a nuba because its "pourous" as opposed to sealant

They recommend, if you plan to polish after the paint, to wait 30 days so you dont pull the paint out.

Or you can polish first like I did, and wait a week before waxing.

then thats the new plan. thanks a lot

What I did was wipe down the places that I touched up with alcohol. Did
the touch up and waited 2 weeks with the truck outside in the sun, where
it stays anyway, and then waxed.

Thanks :) I've done a decent amount since those pics and a few more mods to to come and I'll get some new good pictures, how do you like yours? And 2.73s? Sounds like 373s might be in order ;) I have 4.10s in mine, and yeah it's cool the color is sort of rare but I wish they'd still produce it in low numbers, it was a big factor in getting this sonic blue is one of my favorite colors on these
My next mod will most likely be 3.73s. At this point I'm still daily driving my Mustang so I may keep the 2.73s a little longer. I've got the new 305 HP V6 so there's no shortage of power even with the 2.73s. Haha

Dr. Colorchip is great on newer cars. We had a 1983 Porsche' in our shop for paint corrections and touch-ups. The owner brought in his touch-up paint he just got from Dr. Colorchip. The paint is mixed to match the original color at time of manufacture, it does not account for the aging of the paint. The match was pretty poor. So, we got out our "Applied Colors" paint kit and matched the color exactly. For a car with over 80K miles and 29 years old, it looked great when we finished. Couldn't see the touch-ups unless you examined from very close, 10 - 14 inches.

lol thanks man this helped a lot!

Don't post reponses like these in my threads, thanks.

I posted a helpful response first and then you just re-asked a question that had been answered quite a bit in this thread. We all took the time to post responses to help, I just wanted you to at least take the time to read them. No need to get offended.

I recommend it, but it's not a cure-all, fix-all. It's great for small spots, and especially road rash (you can wipe it on a fairly large aera, wipe it off, then do the buffing with their solution).

The one thing it doesn't do (at least, I haven't figured out how to make it do it) is fill the chips level with the surrounding paint. Although, I am trying it over time on a couple to see if a repeated application after a week or so will fill.

But the match was good on my BMW Monaco Blue, and the car is a 2007 with almost 50K miles. It's a quick alternative to a touch-up fill and wet-sand, but doesn't completely remove the defect in the same way.

I have not, waiting on enough spare time to do my paint correction, and then will give it a shot, but expect a full review on it :xyxthumbs:

bump! will finally be using mine soon
