I bought the dr. colorchip kit from here like 4-6 months ago and I want to give it another go around as I have new chips that I want to fill in.

I took a look at the bottle and the paint looked black. I gave it a good shake and now it looks normal again.

Is it okay to use?

No one? I tried calling colorchip but they are closed till monday.

doesnt all paint separate if it sits long enough..I mean usually you have to shake any paint to mix it up before use..I wouldnt think there is any issue with it

I have had one bottle, unused for over a year. Talked with Dr Color Chip at Detail Fest this year and they recommended getting a new bottle but said it should work fine. So, for a few months old...you will be good to go. Shake and paint!

It will work out OK. Just make sure that you mix it up real good. If the BB's/Ball Bearings on the bottom of the bottle are stuck. Just get them unstuck. I have had the paint and solvent seperate. Mix them both up good and it worked out OK. You can also smear alittle on a scrape piece of plastic or foil to test it if you want to check it out.

Shake it up! Just like you're supposed to. I bought a kit and it sat for over a year unused. Shook it up before use.....no problems. Best chip repair kit IMHO.

Separation is normal. Thats why there is a small ball bearing inside the jar, so you can shake it up to mix it.
