This happen one other time 7 years ago...bird sees its own reflection and feels a threat from another bird.
Only one way to solve this......glad I caught it in a 1/2 day....I'm sure I have scratches to go along with a bunch of bird chit...

A few years ago I had a cardinal do that..

Luckily a feral cat seems to have performed a service on him. It was bad though. That thing was relentless.

I moved the truck 40 yards and had it facing the other direction....didn't make one difference, it came back within 2 minutes

It sucks to do what I did having being a wildlife photographer specializing in birds, but I knew it was the only way to stop it.....
 
Was it a turkey? In my area I've heard stories about males wreaking havoc on a vehicle this time of year.
 
LOL...if it was it was the smallest one know to man
 
Well....you didn't say the type/size of bird :)

Someone here at work had a big old tom go after one of his car doors because it thought the reflection was a competitor for some nearby females. Between the beak and claws it led to an insurance claim and a re-spray of the door.
 
Crow decoy....works like a charm.

Have not had an issue since putting frank the decoy out on guard lol

HA!!....I did get a good look at myself in the mirror this morning with 3.0 readers on...first words out of my mouth.
Good lord, I look like a monster......I suppose I offer the full package :D

I haven't had a hair cut or beard trim since before we left Alaska in late December

I am looking a little scruffy myself

Leaving for Alaska this afternoon, hair cut scheduled for next Tuesday

Man detailing is important...
 
I had this happen to me in April, 2020 during the "Lockdown".

I kept my truck in the back yard (surrounded by trees & bushes) and this female Robin made it her duty to TRASH my truck. She would viciously attack my side mirrors and tinted rear window.

And when they attack, they $hit like crazy the whole time.

I covered my mirrors with bags, wedged a piece of thin cardboard across the back window between the bed and cab, moved my truck to the front, I mean everything I could think of. Nothing worked.

I finally had to go full-blown Lee Harvey Oswald. But from my back deck, not a book depository window. ;)
