Dressing won't stick to tires.

Here is the trick, wipe them down with Acetone 2x's and that will remove the molding release agents and oils. I also wash new tire's with soap and a steel wool pad to break down the marker dots and before I wipe them down with Acetone just to loosen them up.

If you are wondering, no it will not harm the tire.

My Michelin's on my Dakota do not dress well either. I have cleaned them many times. The best product that seems to work most consistently is Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel.

We have michelins on both our current vehicles and they are a pain to keep dressed. Non water based stuff is what I am fooling with now. Everyone brags about water based dressing but they just don't do it on many tires I have found or if they do it lasts no time at all

Read my post #21 above yours, this is a simple fix.

My wife is running Bridgestone tires on her SUV and I've found Duragloss 253 to work really well. It's the only product I've found to work consistently across all brands it has been applied.

Duragloss Tire & Rubber Mat Dressing (TMD) #253

I agree on Bridgestone's being really difficult to dress. I applied a tire coating to the Bridgestones, and two weeks they look as if nothing was applied. Meanwhile a set of Pirelli tires are still going strong months later.
