Drive Safely

:goodpost: I'm just glad nothing tragic happened through my days of bad driving. I couldn't help but laugh at the end though.

Wow ... dont know what to say, but really feel one fails to measure their actions until the consequence is upon them.

I ran a red light, unintentionally, for the 1st time in my life, about 6 months ago. Was fiddling with the radio and came within an inch or less maybe from clipping the back a of a small 4D hatchback, a black mazda(that was quite dirty). At 1st i thought they ran the light but i looked up and saw my light was red right after the near collision. If it wasnt for my cat like reflexes i would of hit them dead center. My jeep being higher then the small compact would of demolished it.

Its funny how clearly i remember it. It all happened in slow motion in under 3 seconds, but it felt like 30 seconds. The people in the car never even noticed, but I will never forget. It just goes to show that driving is a serious thing and that a ton of anything moving is as deadly as any bullet. It makes my skin crawl just talking about it.

Its weird what you can remember in split seconds under certain circumstances that you would never remember otherwise. Some more details that i remember.

The woman was driving with a male. Both in early 30s or late 20s. Both had black hair Im guessing they were Italian. The girl had shoulder length hair in a pony tail with a black hair scrunchy thing and the man had a clean cut with side burns. he was waring a off white button up and the girl a white tshirt. The man also had a black digital watch.

I did not see them till they were directly in front of me. Their front door hinge was even with my passenger side fog light when i saw them. Its amazing what the human mind does in times like that. To make you not forget, see your error clearly and never forget it.

Very powerful video. I drive like a snail these days for that exact reason. That and I want girls to get a good look at my clean and shiny car.

WHOA! just makes you think!

Btw, the second ad with the small red Suzuki suv and the sliver toyota was an ad from my country back in the 90's.

Me too, Gary. I never speed on residential streets, but an open freeway it's petal to the metal for short distances. Effective July 1st, no hand held cell phones while driving. Blue tooth and ear buds are legal. I think it's a good law as too many drivers just don't pay attention to the road while talking on their cell. Worst yet, I see people texting while driving.

I would consider driving fast on a residential street as being rectless. I would hate to hit a little kid or anyone for that matter. People talking and texting on cell phone while driving drives me crazy. It a big hazard everywhere.

Is it legal to talk on a cell while driving in Florida?

Wow... That Makes you really think of all the dumb stuff done in the past. Back in high school I lost two good friends to racing, they hit a gaurd rail and were ejected from the car and then the car rolled over them, since then i've calmed doen my driving alot! I'm 20yrs old, drive a ram srt-10 and I am the slowest driver of a my friends and probably the community. haha
