Dry Compound...

Recently My Dad and I just finished buffing out a Nissan GTO. When we were using the Diamond Cut Compound (Professional Meguiars Brand) there would be little compound spots that would dry right away(like soon as it hit the paint) and took a while for the dewalt buffer to even take them off. What causes this problem and how can I correct this?
Would really appreciate the feedback.
 
It could be a list of things. But, in my experience...I've noticed that happening in cases when there's too much product applied. Try limiting the amount you use.

Prime the pad, Then lay a thin bead, pick it up, then spread it immediately over the area you're working. Then compound like usual.

I'm not saying that's what causing it. But, it's one circumstance where I've seen it happen. :xyxthumbs:
