Just wondering if anyone here uses a leaf blower to dry their car? A guy I work with uses one to dry his Harley after he washes it, and I have used one to get the water our of the grille on my charger, but was wondering if it is safe to use to dry the entire car after washing? It has never been used as a vacuum to suck anything up so there is no dirt caked in the motor that would come blasting out on the paint.

There are tons of people who use leaf blowers to dry their cars. Some will use air compressors. Others will use the Air Force blaster by Metro. All exercise the same concept: not touching your car with anything to dry it.

If your car is coated with a good sealant, wax or nano coating, often the water just flies right off with the forced air.

I don't use a leaf blower, but I do use the Metro Mini blaster.

HUMP

You will find a few threads on this but, absolutely, using a leaf blower is a faster and safer way to dry your car

I myself have actually been searching for a feasible air blower for my uses and I will be picking up a Metro sidekick from a local vendor in a couple of hours.

From a number of reviews, it says the metro sidekick is not a good option to dry the whole car but I really just need it for parts of the car where my waffle weave towel can't reach (grill, headlight, door handles, trim seams, badges). Just anywhere water would be trapped and start dripping after I'm done detailing the car.

FYI - I will also be using on my rims.. hopefully save me some efforts there :)

I personally don't like to use forced air to dry the car. I feel like it kicks up debris from the ground onto the paint. I'd rather sheet the water off then use a damp microfiber with a drying aid to get the rest of the water off.

You can use a leaf blower though make sure its electric and not fuel powered cause the exhaust can make the paintwork dirty again you can also use the blower feature on the shop vac though I use the metro sidekick blower

Plus an electric leaf blower is lighter to handle and not as loud. :xyxthumbs:
