What is your opinion on using electric leaf blower for drying? Any downside to this vs. standard mf towels? Thanks!

If it's just a quick wash and dry, then use the leaf blower to get most of the water off, then go back over the car with a MF to get the rest of the water.
 
dont forget using a qd with your mf because the surface will be mostly dry
 
If your car is prepped/protected, electric blower will shoot the water right off as if you were driving. I only use electric blower on our vehicles all these years, never had the need for an absorbent type towel. Whatever tiny droplets may be left I don't care about since I'll go around with a qd'er and micro after. I just love it for trucks b/c so many nooks and crannies and seals that will hold water and continue to leak that a towel won't do anything for, and easier to blow teh roof instead of dealing with a towel and roof-rack.
 
i don't consider a leaf blower to be a complete means of drying (your still going to have to follow up with a waffle weaves/microfiber towel) but more moreless to get in the areas where water hides (in/around wiper blades, panel gaps/seams, side mirrors, tires/wheels, in/around emblems, front AC vents, etc). if you sheet as much water with just the hose, you would have already eliminated more than half of the water...
 
i like using a blower mainly because if you drive the vehicle shortly after, water is going to come dripping out of mirrors, spoilers etc and dry up on the car. The leaf blower is good for ensuring this doesn't happen.
 
+1 for an electric leaf blower. Huge for wheels, grill, top channels on SUV's. I do follow up with a MF and QD.

quick detailer spray, which i believe spray wax also falls into this catergory
 
im new here also, i just ordered some duragloss aquawax. i still have not found the answer if this can be used as a quick detailer when drying the car like mentioned above.

:iagree: Plus at the same time i get to clean off the leaves on my driveway.Plus i love how my neighbors stare at me when i use it on the car
 
I use the leaf blower, and the spritz with a detailing spray (or quick detailer) and lightly wipe clean. Optimum Gloss Spray works well, Wolfgangs Instant Detailer, even Souveran Spray Wax for those looking for a just waxed look.
