Drying Towel

I have 2 of them and i like them a lot. They are actually really nice towels for cleaning windows and drying miscellaneous areas during a detail like wheels and doorjams.

Have you tried them on paint yet? i dont want to induce more swirls that i have to...

When I first got them I used them on paint all the time. They worked well and left no swirls. They are getting a little older now and I have picked up a distributorship so my choice of towels for paint has changed based on pricing.

I never use my paint towels more than 8-10 times before I pick up a pair of new ones. If I were just a weekend warrior, I would use them for sure, good price good results, can't ask for much more than that.

Yeah your right about the price, $3.95 isnt bad at all lol, i will try them tommorow being that were supposed to have a 75 degree day in florida like the past 4 days! i am going to use my compressor and this towel in combination to try to minimize my swirls, after tackling my truck for 12+ hours battling the megs 105 and 205 and then synthetic sealant and PB nattys liquid blue wax i really dont feel like doing it all over again because swirls drive me crazy!

I love this forum...:xyxthumbs:

I am in love with my guzzler, more I use it the better it gets!

I'm an advocate of using an electric leaf blower. I bought this one at Lowes for about $50.00 and this is definitely the way everyone should be drying their cars.

I try not to use towels to dry my vehicles except during the winter months because I generally use a no rinse or waterless wash and both require drying.

I've used the Cobra Guzzler towels and they seem to work well.

Bob,

Which one is that? I bought a Toro which was too heavy and powerful, and ended up hurting my shoulder.

To the OP: I either use one of several WW drying towels including the Guzzler or an older water sprite which I rinse out between sections. I also use a QD like OIDE when drying to add lubrication.

Kurt, not to jump in for Bob but that is a troy built brand. That is not that heavy at all and i find myself leaning toward that modle myself.I think the price is a bit under 50 bucks now!

No worries. I've been looking for something lightweight or I may break down and finally buy a compressor for blowing out crevises and emblems.

Thanks!

Kurt

First off please don't laugh or hit me.

I just found a couple of those old Sham Wow towels that the mother in law gave me for christmas two years ago. I stuck them in a closet and forgot we even had them.
Question is could they be used or would I be asking for trouble and swirl marks.

Sure you can use them. Just don't use them on your car...

Just out of curiosity, have you seen the CG blower? It looks like it could do the trick for you. I've been considering it for a few weeks now.

You read my mind, I too am thinking about getting one. At $35 it's hard to beat.

What is the "CG Blower"? Googled it found mostly auto parts.....

I buy my microfiber towels fromAG.
If I'm using a bucket for washing then I use the Microfiber gold guzzler (Cobra Ultimate Guzzler HD) . If I'm using ONR then I use the Microfiber green guzzler. To me, the green guzzler is the BEST out there (Cobra Guzzler Waffle Weave 16X24) . Virtually every time there's a BOGO, I buy a couple.

What kind of drying towel do you all like to use?

Cobra, the big one. Started with the little one.

Actually I started with a real animal hide one. But that sucked. Not water, that it left there... it just sucked.

Air compressor for the seams and nooks... Then DI, SDW, or PS waffle weave

When you guys use leaf blower, do you use leaf blower first and try to get as much water as you can then wipe it down with a nice MF? Or do you wipe most of it off then use leaf blower to dry it up?

I use the leaf blower than spray FK 425 and hit it with a WW towel. My wheels have a lot of holes and crannies. The blower is a life saver on them.
