Alright guys,

A year and a half ago I used to comment on this product EcoSmart by CG. Now that AG carries this product I would like to toss my 2 cents in there. I have had MANY people asking me about this product - and recently a gentleman on AG PM'ed me about creating a video with instructional use of the product. Today I did a very short vid of using it and this is what we made (spur of the moment vid) :

VIDEO0127.mp4 video by ourstar70 - Photobucket

A few facts :

1) I have used this product for the past year and a half to build my business up and it is roughly 60 to 70% of my business.

2) This is the basic package I offer out of all Packages I offer.

3) Yes, I can do paint corrections and have many times last year - but again the market could care less about "perfect" and cares more about shiny swirls! Market to your area.

4) This product when used properly DOES NOT induce micro marring...... I can attest to that through the many clients I have serviced over the past year and a half. Don't believe me? Try it yourself.

5) NO I AM NOT A SALESMAN for this product - but I should be lol.

6) Let me know what you think minus any hardcore arguments - this subject seems to produce arguments.

Thanx for watching guys!

Here are some before and after pics too :

Thanks for posting the vid Anthony. I had almost forgotten about EcoSmart. Is this a concentrate and if so what are the typical dilution rates? I am really interested in this for aircraft.

Looking at the pictures of the before and after of the rims seems amazing! But did you let it sit for a while after spraying the rims and then proceed to wipe it down?

How would you compare this to ONR?

Very nice video!

Thanx man :xyxthumbs:

I buy only in the concentrated form.... I have tried a small section on aircraft and was not as fond of it as I am on autos - but with that said it may work well on a C-172 or similar that is in good condition. Or even just to apply to the leading edges before or after a flight to reduce bug issues.... not sure man - seems logical but I do not use this on aircraft.

LMAO - You would never guess what I use on rims LOL - not the ecosmart. And I have never used ONR, ALL my customers have been more than pleased with the EcoSmart - so I have had no reason to fix anything that wasn't broken to begin with. As for the rims - LOL, people at this forum would FREAK OUT if I gave that secret away LOL!

You should be lauded in your effort of reaching out and demonstrating a product specifically for a fellow AGO'er. Great work hand.

Don't you dare say SG.

Dont know what SG is - but I can say it starts with an S :props:

Simple Green?

NOOO! LOL.... I know of locals using that on their aircraft - a big NO NO! And definitely no on Rims IMO.... then again never tried it - but the big S stands for .......S>>>>............ AH, cant give it away! To simple and you guys wont believe me lol!

:applause: Maybe foaming glass cleaner? - DING DING DING - How could foaming glass cleaner clean rims?!?!?! HHHMMM.... So if these experts you all so highly depend on say that "The least aggressive method it the best method" - then why not on rims as well?!?!? For a year and a half I have been using a foaming glass cleaner on rims - and yes 1)Its non aggressive yet effective - 2 ) It works VERY well. I used to get knocked over on AG forum because of this, but don't knock it till you try it. OR go ahead and by your very expensive "foaming glass cleaners" made just for rims ;)

LOL this was not secret for me I learn this a long time ago all though I dont use the foaming one.

Have you tried this on a black car? I feel like I get the very, very light scratches when washing using the two bucket method and drying with waffle weaves...I can't even imagine wiping at the paint with dirt on a towel (had to have been dirty after the first pass you made in that video.) This product must somehow really get behind the dirt so that when you wipe you aren't wiping dirt up against paint...

You mentioned scratching because an employee used the product improperly...would you mind giving a little bit of insight into how someone could use this product improperly? Are you using/can you use this product in sunlight (thought it looked like you were in sunlight in your video?) And is this something you could use weekly?

I own the product and used it one time...somewhere in my fall season of messing with waterless washes I caused alot of scratching (the very fine scratches, nothing deep) so I've been afraid to try anything similar since (even though I don't know where to place the blame.)

I remember when you were getting lit up on this forum when you originally stated that you do the majority of business with rinseless washes. I am glad you stuck to your guns and continue to succeed. I have been a convert to rinseless/waterless washes with my detailing. I do exactly 2 regular washes yearly (Spring/Fall full details) and the rest is either waterless (currently using Griots) or rinseless (DP).

I used this on my HHR that is Victory Red. The paint is not in perfect condition nor is it hammered. The formula that I tried was ready to use (RTU) and I do not know what the dilution rate is. It did not leave or make any additional marring that I can tell. Additional use on a polished panel may be required to determine level of marring if any.

What this product does:

- Cleans without scratching when used properly, exactly as Anthony stated in the video - spray panel, make a light pass with 1 towel, make a 2nd pass with another clean towel, if needed do a final buff.

- Leaves the surface slick and clean

What this product doesn't do:

- Remove above surface contaminants. This product is said to contain Kaolin clay but in my experience it did not remove anything. Someone stated their paint felt gritty after using this product, my guess is that it needed to have a real clay bar ran over the surface and they assumed the Kaolin clay within would have removed contaminants. Again, just a guess as my paint really, really needs a clay bar treatment.

I would add a wax - paste, liquid, or spray, or a sealant after cleaning the surface with CG EcoSmart. Yes it contains some protective properties but nothing I would consider long term or be happy selling my customers on. But this obviously works for Anthony and his clientele, so cheers to him. Maybe he only sells this as a cleaning package and not a cleaning/protection package?

Closing thoughts - Don't knock it until you've tried it. This won't replace Duragloss Rinseless Wash, Meguiar's Rinse Free Express Wash, or even ONR for me, but I wouldn't turn the product down either.
