Dual Action Buff out of Orange Peel - Advice Request

Going to try to answer the questions myself....

1) Which DA should I use and what speed for the Trizact 3000? I have an air random orbital sander (variable speed adjustable), an older portercable 7424 and a brand new Flex XC3401. I’m thinking the air sander would work best, but what speed? I will be using the pads wet.

The Flex3401 is too powerful. Use the portercable or the air DA on 25% power. Also , I'm not wet sanding, rather damp sanding.

2) With the wool pad on the rotary, which product should I be using – like how aggressive a cut would I need? On the scale from 0-10, 10 being Meguiars 105, which should I start with? Also, what speed 600rpm?
I'm going to use Mequiars #04 Heavy cut cleaner (8/10) on the wool pad at 900rpms.

3) Lastly, generically how much faster should I be moving the rotary pad vs the DA (which I have experience with and understand the DA arm speed). Also, the DA usually gets 6-8 section passes – how many section passes does the rotary typically get.
Still researching.....

Mike, have you ever had somewhat orange peeled factory clear come up as "grainy" after intensive polishing? obviously it'd be a candidate for sanding at that point to loosen up the grainy looks and smooth things out to more closely match the surrounding peel but i'm concerned it's actually texture of the base showing itself through thin clear. DOI is grainy but not the worst since the whole car is slightly peeled from the factory. readings are not terrible but imo it's too risky to keep playing with it and the area is small enough that i'm somewhat ok with leaving it alone since it's completely free of marring and now protected (coated).

I know my process was not exactly correct but I did a few passes on my tailgate of my truck with a denim pad and a GG6 DA. I used it on speed 4 with some pressure. Two passes and I was happy! I can try to get some pics tomorrow
