Dubmix, Mixing Meg's Dub Wheel Cleaner with Glycerin and paint testing

So, we get runnier product that is less effective(because of this) and more bleeding runoff just for the show. Figures, I guess they give us what they think we want, not what we need.

I've done my one front wheel three times with about the same result each time. Much bleeding and run off, while slowly getting cleaner. Would be nice if would stick, dwell, and do its job.

Haven't had much time to try anything else yet and catching a stomach flu/virus really was not encouraging either. Can't imagine what the smell would have done to me the other day. My stomach is still in knots, bla.

Thanks for the additional info, suggestions, and encouragement.

Ha, watching a documentary on Thomas Edison now. :xyxthumbs:

Did finally get the wheel cleaner to gel useing Ball brand Low or No-Sugar Needed Pectin.

First I tried adding 1/4 teaspoon to 1oz Dub. Shook it up and let it rest outside(in the 20s-40s lately). No results. Did slightly make the colour more orangish.

Couple days later tried heating it then let it sit. No results.

I think I did this three times to get it to gel adding a total of 3/4 teaspoon pectin to an ounce. Not sure if the glycerin had any affect on the results or not. Will have to try without glycerin added if I get some more.

Now I just need to try to see if it sprayable, if it still performs, and then possibly try on a larger batch.

This makes me wonder if there would be a benefit to adding glycerin to a set APC mix to prevent from drying out as fast, or adding pectin to prevent running and use as a presoak and and then rinse before washing.
